Are adult DVDs too expensive? I find them so... I mean, I usually pay from $15 to $20 for music CDs, $25 at the most. Anything beyond that is usually collector's stuff, special or imported editions etc. and I rarely purchase those.

There are low-priced adult DVDs but many adult films from big studios usually cost anywhere from $35 to $60! One example: http://www.treasureislandmedia.com/cart/BAREBACK-DVDs

Just click on any of the film covers... Most of those cost $59... Almost $60 for 1 movie! You could get 3 or 4 music albums for that price.

See: http://www.wegavideo.ca/store/index.php Many films starting at $35 up to $60... Still too much IMO...

I understand music albums & even singles usually sell MUCH more than adult films, which explains the lower cost of albums & singles... But still... There are so many other things we have to do and obligations we shall meet with money! Would we really want to spend $60 or even $35 on one 1 single adult film?! How well do those films even sell? Anyody knows (actual sale figures which I've never seen for an adult release)?

It's not so much a question of being able to afford such movies or not... I know for a fact that numerous people that have well-paid jobs and have money won't even spend much money at all on music albums, let alone adult films the customer might only want to watch a few times a year or so.

I think it would be wiser to only charge up to $25 for adult films, no more. The less expensive they are, the more they'd sell with some good advertising.

I much prefer paying a (not too expensive) monthly fee for one or two good, quality membership sites that are frequently updated.

Right now, I'm a subscriber of Broke Straight Boys and TimTales.

Owning a good quality DVD, you might play it in a DVD player and view the film on any TV set including large or giant screens without having to go through the hassle of downloading all those episodes (take LOTS of place on hard-drives), cutting, editing and compiling them then burning the film onto a DVD-R (burning process can take long in some cases).

I love Apple TV! I stream Netflix from my iPhone, play my playlists thru my Apple TV.... So many options. We don't have cable but we can watch so much stuff!

(But I wouldn't dare watch Broke Straight Boys through my Apple TV.)

I buy all my dvds from a site called tiposesso. They are reasonable priced with sales all the time. They have tons of videos, toys, and accessories. Matter of fact I just ordered a dvd 2 weeks ago and when it arrived there was a personal hand written note from the shipper saying the video I ordered was no longer in stock. They sent me a double dvd for replacement and reimbursed my credit card. Great customer service!!!

I'm still wondering how many units are actually sold of adult DVDs, especially gay adult DVDs that cost $60...

I remember in the early 1980s when VHS tapes of gay movies were $79.99 and higher. They remained that way and it was a deal to find them at $69.99. Now this is not adjusted for inflation so we are talking about a lot of money back then.

Most DVDs can be found for around $40 to $50. I find that a bit expensive as most DVDs suck except for the one scene you want. So you end up spending for three or four scenes you never watch.

The best thing I found is going to sites and joining them again and again for a few months. I make my own DVDs with all the scenes I want. It saves money and you don't have to wait a few weeks for them to get around sending you the stuff you ordered on your computer.

I am surprised at the quality of the older videos on the DVD (High Res screen too!).

Some adult DVDs are way expensive and if you buy them retail there is a HUGE markup on them. I also understand that they sell less units so they have to increase the cost to make a profit. I was surprised to see how reasonable Broke Straight Boys DVDs are priced they are a great value.
