Active Users ?

Just saying.. I don't like the new way of showing who is on. Who is not. Just tuned in and saw I was the only person checking in on what was happening.
Was kind of a comfort seeing all those names. Now it is kind of a lonely feeling.
Guess it just shows I really need to get more of a life. Oh well Broke Straight Boys just keeps changing. Kind of takes away little more of the fun.
Better get off. Don't want people to think I have nothing else to do. Just not great with changes and things
just keep on changing.

I just check in on and off throughout the day. You're not all alone Johnny. Remember that on weekdays especially, many others are still at work.

Hello Guys,

There was a setting that was very off before in the vBulletin control panel. Active time was set to a ridiculously high number. The whose online is supposed to be authentic and show the real number of people online, but the setting was set to 1 week. So if Johnny logged in today and then Tampa logged in next Monday it would still show that Johnny was online when in fact he could have been on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean for the 6 days after.

The default setting is 5 minutes, but we have ours now set at 30 minutes. So the names you see and the number online now reflect how many people have been in the forum within the last 30 minutes. At any given second of the day we have around 300 people on the Broke Straight Boys site watching videos, but usually only about 1 or 2 of those 300 in the forum at any given second.

So nothing has changed at all other than we are showing a truer number (how many people have been active in the last 30 minutes) as opposed to the last 7 days.

Hey johnny, I'm not on every day for reasons every one knows by now I'm sure but I'm most definitely an active user again, I can simpathise with what your saying 100%. Some times I don't post when I come on as I'm not getting to watch the scenes like a lot of you as I only get to watch the occasional one for obvious reasons but I really enjoy reading the posts and I post when I think that I can contribute. Been done Louis..Tampa set up Virtual Coffee Shop, Diner and Corner Pub...Just got moved down a bit. But it is still going.

I just got used to seeing all the names of people. Getting to know some and just missed them. Like I said Johnny

I guess I am also ignorant because I did not know... however thanks for clearing up what I should have known something about Bryce and thanks for bringing it to my attention Louis. I think I will be able to write the forum off on my business taxes next year not only as an entertainment expense but for educational reasons as well.

The idea of the thread is that it can be more for chat room and just socializing with people in real time, or talking about any subject or interest going on in your life. Sometimes we'd like to bring up subjects of things going on in our lives (or the world in general) that we don't feel will necessarily warrant a thread of their own.

I have to admit Louis I didn't realise there was a working active user list either as I just thought the list of users at the bottom of the page was just users that still use the forum occasionally. I have to admit I don't really like seeing how many users are online as its quite a lonely feeling. Dan x

I soo wish I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean aswell Johnny so I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't like change to Much either as I find it very unsettling. Dan

Ya it is unsettling. Makes you realize how few of us really do use the Forum. I guess it was a mind thing with me.
Seeing all those names made me think there were more people interested in the Forum.
Oh well Ten or Fifteen is better than none.
