A Look Back....

With the anticipation of new scenes and new models to look forward to, I still find myself going back to some of the old scenes. Watching scenes you haven't seen in a while is kind of like watching something new, different or reminiscent and a lot of times I find something in a scene I don't remember seeing before.

Watching porn for me is a practice in suspending the reality for a moment and trying to enjoy what I see rather than focusing on what I didn't see. Trying to figure out who's gay or straight can also be suspended (for me) when I'm able to watch two guys enjoy the moment and pleasure of the sex. Like watching a magic show, I know there's no such thing as magic, there are no jennies, but I buy into the "illusion" created by the so called magician.


When a scene can capture two guys who were not only able to perform the act of sex for the entertainment of the viewer, but actually, through the looks, body language and ultimately...the physical reactions........that's what I enjoy!

The thing I like about the older scenes is that they were simpler and to the point. Although Broke Straight Boys thankfully has never gotten into the whole bad porn acting and "fantasy" set-ups ("we're here to fix your air conditioner... boy, it sure is hot, do you mind if we take off our shirts?"... etc!!!), the sets have gotten a fancier (well, that one game room/hangout thing, whatever was just straight-up horrible! Thankfully the sets have been scaled back again and look nice and simple again without all that distracting crap everywhere!), the camera work has gotten better and clearer (which obviously is a big plus), and the scenes are just generally slicker and more professional-looking, which is a good thing. But the old Broke Straight Boys had a sort of homemade, underground, almost punk feel to it -- just a guy or two or sometimes three (or more) on the futon having sex of one sort or another. Almost no set dressing beyond a lamp on an end table and a sheet over the futon, not much pre-scene chatter beyond introductions and the offer of money for the particular sex acts (usually, although the old producer COULD get rather long-winded at times!). There wasn't a lot of kissing back then, either, which considering we get kissing in most every scene now but its mostly that noisy, fake, porn kissing, is a good thing! I just thought there was a real charm in the simplicity back then, if one can call porn charming?

I wonder if Jimmy also brought down the scores on other scene partners here, and I find it curious that the fans who vote on Broke Straight Boys gave him such low scores, yet he has been a working model to my knowledge on top sites ever since he left Broke Straight Boys, while so many other former models seem to be looking for work. Very curious.

My guess is that Jimmy probably made more money as a Broke Straight Boys than any other model here and since he's moved on to Men.com and the other sites, I imagine he has done very well too. Probably Johnny Forza, Vadim Black and him have done the best of any former model here, although I see Paul Canon is doing a lot of work today, but from what I've read the industry does not pay the same money that it did a few years ago, But my point is that Jimmy has had the last laugh by pocketing the cash.

Ah, the eternal struggle of the Jimmy-haters vs. the Jimmy-lovers (lead by our esteemed Mikey). Well, he has worked consistently since his first appearances here, and he still looks pretty much the same. He's only in his mid-20s if the age listed here for his first appearance was true, so he's not that old, but the porn industry is often brutal on models, aging them prematurely or making them look worn out and tired (or "used up" in more tragic cases), or they feel the need to bulk up once they hit that mid-20s mark and are too old for the twink/boy market anymore. So I'm glad to see Jimmy's remained pretty much unchanged, and I suspect that even his loudest detractors have viewed and enjoyed his videos. I've never seen anyone say anything about his body or looks, so presumably it is his uber-straight (refusing to bottom -- until recently when he DID do a bottom scene -- and sucking dick reluctantly, and not very good when he does), sometimes douchey (sorry Mikey!) attitude that brings out the haters? Well, love him or hate him, he's had a steady career -- he's up to close to 40 scenes on another site, although the most recent appears to be from just over a year ago, so I'm not sure what he's doing or where he's working these days. Maybe he has retired? Even if so, he had a great run, and no one can deny that, so there had to be SOMETHING about him that a lot of guys liked.

I did a little research.
Jimmy did 27 sex scenes for Broke Straight Boys, the last release date was 3/8/12 - Jimmy & Bradley
Jimmy did 37 scenes for Men.com, the first release date was 7/15/12, the last on 5/3/15.

I have no idea if he is working for another studio or has retired from the gay for pay porn biz, but overall I think he had a pretty good run with 64 scenes over three years. I know that there is a lot of negativity towards Jimmy on this forum, and you all have your right to your own opinions, but the facts are that he has been a success in the business and had to have made some decent money over that period, whatever you all think of his work or his looks or his personality aside.
