I know I've answered that question many times But, since you asked Johnny?...I subscribed to this site LONG before discovering, and how to participate on the Forum. I came for the PORN. Many sites I've visited or visit still, don't have a forum but, there is always a place to make comments. While I have used and appreciate the forum and the opportunity it gives the members of this site to share thoughts, ideas, perspectives, opinions regarding all aspects of the site and scenes, models etc.....I honestly would still subscribe to this site because it does provide me with the type of porn I've enjoyed and continue to enjoy, irrespective of the forum or it's existence.

I joined for the porn in 2008 with believably straight boys apparently reluctantly taking the slow progression into the world of gay sex only to discover much to their surprise of how good it feels.

I remain because for a relatively small cost, I can be amused by the forum on a daily basis, but the day the forum is removed, with the current state and caliber of the porn and the models I will be out of here in a New York minute.

I really don't know about many other pay sites, but the few I do or have experienced over the years, I like the variety on Broke Straight Boys even if I complain alot - lol !!!

I knew nothing about forums or message boards before I came here. I grew to really like the forum very much, thanks to an education from my dear friend mikey.

So to answer the question:

1. If the quality and type of models stayed about the same as it is now (which for the most part satisfies my basic needs), I would probably stay without the forum because there are other ways I can stay in touch with the people on this forum who matter to me.

2. If the quality and type of models significantly declined to the point where I was rarely satisfied, and the forum was gone, I'd be out of here in a Pittsburgh second - lol!!!

3. If the quality and type of models significantly declined to the point where I was rarely satisfied, and the forum was still here, I'd leave because I could find porn elsewhere and could stay in touch with the people from this forum who matter to me in other ways.

Yes, I'd stay. I love the forum, especially what I say in it! Just kidding. LOL

But the only way they'll get Broke Straight Boys away from me is to take it out of my cold dead hands. I don't get caught up in gay, straight, tall, short, big dick, little dick, fat dick, skinny dick, top, bottom, great ass, or ass that's just alright. I come with a different perspective. I was born in 1929, in Dalhart Texas. If you've ever seen that Dust Bowl film on the History Channel, that's the epicenter of when the whole central United States was turning to a desert. Those dust storms would just blow up without warning. We didn't have radio, television or phones and no weather reports. I got caught on a combine in a wheat field, and in those days, combines had tractors to pull them. So me and the tractor driver spent the night in the grain bin of the combine. With a little spit and determination, that kid fucked my ass 4 times that night, which I'm here to tell was the one of the great ass-fuckings a 15 year old kid could get. I busted my nuts all over that wheat. I remember it like it was yesterday, and Franklin Roosevelt was Presiden, and Hitler was a live person when that happened. The "fucker"went on and married, and had 12 kids, so I'm pretty sure he was straight. Neither he nor I ever spoke of that event, either during it, or after it, until this very day. Its like it never happened. I still know this guy, his wife, his children, grand children, and great grand children.

All you had for sex in those days was your body, your imagination, your creativity, and a little good luck from time to time. I mean how many times do you get stranded in a small wheat bin, with a hot horny guy, in the middle of a dust storm.


So with that perspective, I see Broke Straight Boys in a totally different light than most people. I got by without any pornography, bad pornography and crap by actors on video tape. I did watch the series on the Dust Bowl on TV a few years ago and I was fascinated by it. I had no idea about all that. I asked my brother's father-in-law who is now 92 about it but he just had a faint memory of it, but he was here in New York City then and not there as you and your buddy were. I am glad that Broke Straight Boys is so important to you Andy as you came from an era where there was no porn, especially gay porn and I enjoy reading your posts here.

I don't think I'd be able to stay here without the forum. It's part of what kept me from leaving after my first two months here. I joined in 2008 as a birthday present to myself. I had no idea there were already so many videos in here. With the archives overflowing with hot videos, I was like a little kid in a candy store. lol There was no way I could get through what seemed like maybe a hundred videos in one month. So I renewed the following month. I had seen a banner on the home page announcing the start of what was called a forum. I had only the vaguest of ideas about what that might have been all about...in 2008. I was very much a computer novice. I didn't know how to copy and paste. I didn't know how to save or download a picture or a video to my own computer. Let alone post a picture or video in a chat room forum. I did sign up for this so-called new forum still expecting to leave the site the following month.

Well after staying for the following month I had still made only a small dent in the number of videos in the archives, as well as wanting to go back and watch favorites of the ones I had actually seen. lol So I renewed for yet another month. By then I was starting to learn more about this forum. It was tough figuring out how to work the basic mechanics of it. In spite of my initial concerns about it maybe being filled with weirdos and pervs, I was very pleasantly surprised by the intelligent level of the conversations and the fascinating combination of personalities. By my third and definitely by the fourth month of being here, I realized that I was hooked on the site and staying here more for the forum than for the actual porn. lol

It was a serious financial consideration for me back then to decide whether to stay here permanently on automatic renewal. Through struggle, worry and some luck I manage to keep my basic needs met. But I certainly don't live a lifestyle of the rich and famous. haha But whenever I have had to deal with serious health issues over the last 8 years and have not even been able to leave my home, the forum and all my forum friends have still been here for me. So in that way this social outlet has actually enriched my life. I have friends in real life and friends in here. But the friends in here I can chat with on any schedule, day or night, holiday or no. With the forum you feel like you are a part of a community. The staff of the site feel like they are distant relatives or extended family rather than total strangers just doing a job.

So let's just say that in spite of good porn, without the forum it would be difficult for me to stay here permanently.

I look at the forum as a bonus feature. I pay my money for the porn. If the forum was shut down, but the porn is still great, I will stay a loyal Broke Straight Boys member. I could always e-mail any concerns I might have to admin if there were no forum.

Having said all of that, currently I am extremely happy with both the porn and the forum. (And some of the bonus sites also.)

If I were to speculate.....I would say, while there are mixed comments from people who would leave if there was no forum and those who seem content with the porn offered by the site (so long as it doesn't degrade substantially), I would say that Broke Straight Boys by History, has carved a small niche in the gay for pay, straight boy theme of porn available on the internet at least. The number of people who comment on the forum is only a small percentage of people who are either subscribing members or "guest" members of the site. As long as there is someone to produce, direct and distribute content of this nature.....there will be subscriptions being filled! The forum does serve as an component that people have become both familiar with and utilize and I'm sure has created substantial advantages (or in some cases disadvantages) for the facilitators of the site. Hell, there are past members of the site who have left because of their own reasons and still talk about Broke Straight Boys new and old!

I enjoy the forum, too, because I like porn and I like to talk about it and this is a good place to do it without blushing.
However, I think I'm not renewing after this month, though I do very much enjoy the current crop of models. It's time for a new setting, or, dare I say, actual sex in my personal life while I'm still young and hot. Broke Straight Boys overall is a solid business and there has never been a more positive and customer-focused group of models. The sex is hot and is finally full-on... gay: kissing, rimming, passion. The HSBoys bonus sites have really gone downhill, with too many not updating anymore, and the ones that do just don't do it for me. I came back to Broke Straight Boys because it was discounted through my membership at College Dudes I canceled that membership months ago once it was clear that the company had no intention of nurturing the site back to the powerhouse that it was, reducing the number of updates and the quality of the scenes. Since my exit from College Dudes, I've not been as excited to look at porn. Broke Straight Boys was my "bonus" subscription. It doesn't do for me what College Dudes did. I tried Men.com for a couple months, and it was pretty hot and nice to see some old faves from here, but it's too... clean and produced.
Give me College Dudes circa 2011 or give me death.
I'll keep following the guys on Twitter and see where they land or what they're up to here, and could consider down the road subscribing again.
