Both Jaycee Barker an Cooper Douglas did fairly recent solos. Other than Jaycee's lip ring I don't recall that the members were adverse to seeing more of him. As to Cooper I think there was some discussion of his age (not sure and didn't go back and check). The thing is, if one goes back thru the archives there is an amazing number of guys who did a solo never to return. I'm not sure what this is all about because apparently potential models are told that Broke Straight Boys is a gay site, so it's not as though they come in to shoot unaware. Even when anticipation by the member is a bit low I would still like to see them progress to a higher level. There have been many models over the years who got initially poor reviews, but once the returned for more videos, the opinions change, sometimes a lot. As I have been going back thru all of the older videos, beginning with the first episode and once again, working my way forward, this has just been on my mind and I wanted to express what is sometimes a bit of a curiosity for me.

I agree AtlantaGuy that it is and has always been a bit of a mystery as to which models return and which are never heard from again. I am always most curious of the one's who only do a solo and nothing further. Throughout the various phases of Broke Straight Boys, we have learned that typically a model is flown into the city of filming, and is housed for several days where I would assume that they are scheduled to work with the other models being housed at the same time. That's why I find it so curious when a guy only does a solo. Is it his decision to do no more? Does he remain in the house with the other models and wait for his return flight home? Or are some of these "one and done" models, local to the area?

The one example who I found fascinating, although not hot was "Reluctant Mike" aka Mike Parker. We saw his solo, a BTS where he was flown in and met at the airport, and his one duo scene with Lucas, where in mid scene he decided to stop as he didn't want to suck cock.....................and that was it. I see the scene is rated 1.75, so it was not popular with members, but to me as a fan of reality, this was about as real as it gets, although it was an aborted scene.

Thank you so much Louis for that referral. I thought it was a really great interview. Spencer was very real and it was really telling to hear him speak about how is attitudes changed over time. I wish more people could take a lesson from what he had to say. I remember he early comments on the forum about him. I also remember how peoples' view of him changed as he did.

So again, thank you

And this is one thing that confuses me. It has to cost the company a good deal of money to fly these guys out and feed them. Sometimes I wonder if Broke Straight Boys changes their mind about a model after they have had a chance to know them better. Other times I speculate that perhaps once they realize what is expected, they just can't handle it, although I find that curious. I remember David saying on occasion that when they recruit someone they are obligated to tell them that Broke Straight Boys is a gay site. Perhaps one of these days someone from management will be willing to give at least a brief explanation but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm right there with you my friend. Hopefully Mark or Sha or perhaps even the elusive Damian Christopher might pop in to answer our question. :001_unsure:

Ok, let secrets be out. Being the little detective I am, I fictitiously went in and pretended I was an interested model to fill out the application. The information about this being a gay site is clearly stated even before I finished the application process.

From that I surmise that the guys that come in know what they are stepping into. However, their decision to stay or carry on is based on their personal perception of what they experience once they get there.

In my opinion, Broke Straight Boys is upfront from the start when these models first apply.

back in march, sha posted this:
We do typically try to bring a model in for more than one scene at a time mainly for financial purposes. From time to time we do have guys that will only shoot a solo with us their first time at the studio. The reasons for only a solo shoot could vary from the model not being comfortable at the time to go on and do another scene while they are here, their performance wasn't up to par, there are issues with testing or even our team not being totally confident with how they will be received on the site.

For first timers David used to say "we are a gay owned and operated site". However, he also used to promise the real straight guys girls and say that the videos were for his own personal use - ha ha

Hey, Jon -

Unlike some, though I am 100 per cent gay (probably MORE, despite the fact that it is logically IMPOSSIBLE): in the right mood, I can really ENJOY the sights and sounds of a TRULY straight guy GETTING OFF on what he likes BEST - because he is usually so much more ENTHUSIASTIC!!!! (I just close ONE EYE ;-)

David always told his first-time (and sometimes second- and third-time models): "Don't worry, we're getting you back on our OTHER SITE, 'Broke Straight GIRLS', as soon as we CAN!" When I first joined, I looked for WEEKS to find BSG ~ just to see DANNY in REAL ECSTASY with his g/f. . . only to figure out that it was a f***ing DODGE.

What can I say? I'm deprived. I grew up at the Arctic circle, and I wanted to see Danny as a top, SO MUCH, I bought the line, for a whole couple of fortnights, or so. (As Bugs Bunny would say: "I'm a MAROON.")

"A" :bored:

Didn't realise you were so taken in Ambi. As soon as I heard the line for BSG and then nurse Cindy, I knew it was a piss take. TBH I think a lot of Broke Straight Boys was scripted and the guys obviously knew they would never get a girl but were just playing along with the fantasy.

There are exceptions to the rule though, and I guess my hero Holden is certainly one of those.

And they were conveniently already douched lol
