Wow, Betu! That was kind of scary. And I only mean that because we obviously do think quite a bit alike. Actually, I think there is something romantic about respect. I think that's what people feel when they talk about "chemistry" between models. If you think about it, you can't love someone you don't respect. But that doesn't mean that respecting someone will lead to level of commitment. I think the best scenes come from models who actually want their partner to enjoy the scene as much as they do. To me, it makes a scene good even if the actual sex is not spectacular. If they've enjoyed each other's company, I can usually sense that. Either that, or I compliment them on their acting ability.

I can pretty much get a sense when models can't really stand each other (I specifically recall I felt that way with Ronan Kennedy and Isaac, as well as Brandon and Vadim Black). Great choice and the back story was that Josh was supposed to be a real life friend of Mike Robbins from back home, who came to Broke Straight Boys with a busted up foot to earn some money because he had an accident riding with Mike on an ATV or something. You are new to Broke Straight Boys, Bartirah. lol That voice belongs to David who was the original director who hired and housed the models from the beginning of the site until April 2011 when Mark, the owner, went in a different direction and no longer employed David and his company D&E to produce the content on the site. For many of us old timers, the voice of David was Broke Straight Boys and all of the content prior to that date is is often referred to as Broke Straight Boys-1.!!!

But that was then and this is now, but I am so very grateful and appreciative that Mark has kept all of the content from the various eras of the site available to us in the vast archives of the site and Josh and Shane is a great example of David getting the most out of his models, with his somewhat unorthodox but usually very effective manner and style.

Great post and theme expressed by Betu. I tend to look for the positive elements of the scene overall, then cast my rating on the scene and the models. Occasionally, a model phones it in and goes through the motions, but not very often. I believe Sha and the Broke Straight Boys team coach them and strive to produce a 5 star scene. The "get to know" BTS videos are some of my favorites. Even if the story the model is telling contains embellishments, it provides some background and context of why they (or their character) are here. Certain models can raise the bar of less experienced or shy models. I commented recently about Rowan's evolution. He started out very vanilla and then incorporated other elements to make his scenes more interesting for me. Same with Chris. I am glad Broke Straight Boys gives the models a "second" tour, using the experience of their first visit and to try and improve during the next round of filming.

I thought that Betu's thread, "Why I Stay with Broke Straight Boys" is a good place to make another observation. Last night, on my "other" forum site, I was listening to a fascinating audio series from the Canadian Broadcasting Company on "Porn-o-nomics" or the current economics of the porn industry worldwide. And it was mentioned how there is a huge multi national conglomerate that is buying up many major porn studios and also owns the tube sites that offer the free porn which is hurting the porn industry by operating as a monopoly.

It brought to my mind how Mark recently mentioned that Broke Straight Boys is still owned and run by him, a gay man, in an age where many gay sites are owned by straight business people. While I have criticism for many things about this site today as compared to "yesterday", I also want to offer Mark credit, congratulations and thanks for maintaining his independence and I am happy that whatever profit can still be made in today's climate in this industry are staying within the gay community. Thank you Mark for your independence and trying to give us what we crave here, as hard as that may be in today's economic climate.
