Jaunjo pretty much answers your question here. The scene Kodi did on Clay's other site appears to have been filmed a long while ago. Kodi we were told had found religion and his newfound religious beliefs precluded him from doing any more porn. So he retired from the business. Of course in real life that doesn't mean that he will never change his mind. I'm almost certain that if Kodi ever contacted Broke Straight Boys expressing an interest in doing more work, that they would be receptive to letting him come back.

If you ever find Kodi doing much more recent work elsewhere online, please let us know. Many of us would be happy to clamor for his return. haha

I've been a member for quite some time. I've always loved the site. I understand this is a business, and the business must do what it needs to do to make a profit. Using models who satisfy a broad number of viewers is one of those things; however, the viewership of BSB has a specific taste: straight men. I will say again, I have always loved this site, but I'm losing hope, seeing update after update with these lispy, effeminate gay men. If you have to use gay models - which I completely understand - at least use gay models who fit the advertised niche: straight...I don't even care about the broke part...we could all use a bit more money.

That's it...I'm done ranting...but I would really like to know when will the "straight" in Broke Straight Boys come back?

The problem with this site is that there are two different target audiences. One group views the straight aspect of the site as getting straight guys and making them into gay-for-pay porn stars who learn how to perform in gay scenes as well as any gay man could and look like they are enjoying it. Their main interest is seeing masculine guys in hard core gay sex scenes, like the Kurt Wilde type gay-for-pay stars, many of whom you would of assumed were gay until you hear they're not because they're so good at acting the part.

The other group are people who have a straight guy fetish. For them it's all about being able to see something taboo. It's not so much the sex acts that make it hot, it's more about the psychology of seeing guys like you might run into in real life and watching them as they are made to do things that they aren't supposed to and don't want to for money. Their perceived reality and the fact that they don't seem to be acting is important. Watching them struggle with their feelings of embarrassment, shame, fear, and confusion while trying to bring themselves into feelings of guilty pleasure in front of a lot of people is the main point. It's about the suspense and excitement of the process of pushing their boundaries while exposing them to increasing levels of gay sexuality, and not about reaching a goal of making them gay sex gods. That's the big difference between the two groups. If you have a fetish for straight guys it become less hot once they reach the point where you can't tell that they're straight because they can act like they are really into the sex.

Back in days when models like Diesal, Mike Robbins, Dustin, Braden, Ashton and Jordan were the big stars, most of the popular models rarely bottomed at all and some never did. The exceptions were ones like Ashton who said he preferred to bottom because seeing a guys ass made it difficult to stay hard. The fact that these guys weren't attainable, but there was this slight hope of a chance made you want to keep watching them and the more you did the more bits of their personality you got to know and eventually it was hard not feel like invested in them and care about them. But there was always an air of mystery that kept you wanting to come back for more. It was a whole different level of experience than just watching a hot scene with hot guys. I've been on and off this site since near the beginning and I keep coming back for that experience, but there's not much of that left in the newer videos and models. A few of them get close to that, like I really enjoyed Tyler Whit's videos and interviews and seeing him interact at the CO house. He seemed to have a dynamic which made you really want to know more so that personality along with his overall sexiness and attitude was reminiscent the models Diesal, Braden, etc. era. But I guess why some people question if there are any straight guys on here is in a large part due to the fact that we don't really seem to know their personalities as much as back in the old days. You've really hit the nail on the head with your observations. For those who are straight purists, it's more difficult for us as the site goes into more mainstream gay porn. As we've alluded to elsewhere today, it's difficult to care about a model as a person and feel invested in him or emotionally attached, when we know so little about him or them. I know we've covered this already. But I'll still put this out there again in somewhat different terms, in the hopes that it will reach those who have the power to make certain course changes. I'm not advocating "change" so much as I'm asking for a return to what the site is usually about. That being finding straight or straight-ish amateur models who share with the audience and feel like real people to us.

I know there are always those who are going to complain that the pre-sex interviews should not turn into lengthy Barbara Walters productions or Larry King marathons. And to some extent I agree with that. It's a tough balance for sure. But I think we should get something of some substance in the pre-sex portion of the videos. When the opening of scenes is full of inane small talk and filler that covers only topics like who's going to do what to whom...and how nervous or apprehensive each model is about the scene ahead...that's not the stuff that helps build a model's popularity and following. I think we should get something of some substance from the models that helps foster and maintain a connection with the viewers. Letting him share details of his life offscreen (without violating his privacy of course) or at least letting his unique personality shine, is what builds and maintains a loyal fan base. It's not just about his looks and his skills performing sex.

We can see beautiful two-dimensional models performing skillful gay sex all over the internet. At Broke Straight Boys we look for more than that. If the models here just become stick figures in the sex videos...then social media alone is not going to be enough to pick up the slack and keep people's interest. I do have some observations to make here. First I do know some people who have been models in the business, one who has done some work here, who were straight so I have no reason to believe that any large number of the models here are gay. Most are straight or flexible, in that they are willing to do the work. Not every straight guy out there is going to be willing to do this work. Those that do are going to have limits on what they will or will not do. It amuses me that Jimmy Johnson who was one of the quintessential straight boys to appear here was resoundingly hated by some members for the very characteristics which marked him as straight.

The fact is that straight guys who do this work, do so for different reasons. Some might be a little farther along on the Kinsey Scale than others. Some like Damien and Paul might realize something about themselves after getting into the business. Some might do it simply as a way to make some money. I once had a client who explained to me that he hated sucking dick and taking it up the ass but it was an easy way to make money to pay his rent and buy dope. I know a guy who did about 4 flicks a year for them and another studio, stripped and escorted and lived very well on the proceeds.

What I really think people are upset with is that the scenes have become so formulaic Except for the actors they are virtually all identical in how they play out. Of course this was a criticism given to David once upon a time as well. Including how he would trot in a "gay" guy or two, not to mention accusing the straight models of being gay. Of course being in South Florida at that time, David had access to a large group of models who were straight acting even if they were not straight and used his formula well.

This means the studios are all out there trying to find new models, test them out and check them out to see if they fit the business model. Not just BSB but also other studios as well. In the mean time they re-use the models they have and try to keep people interested in the product.

Any of the guys I have spoken to away from the bulletin boards who approached BSB or worked for BSB tells me they are very professional in how they do business. They are not like Kochis over at Cobra was or anyone of a number of studio owners who consider their models as personal sex toys on the side. But this also means they have certain standards in the guys they hire as well as how they use them in scenes. This sadly isn't true of all. One studio in San Francisco for example is notorious for its low standards.

What all this means is quite simple, despite what each of us might think is effeminate or not, straight acting or not or whatever stereotypes we might have, BSB is trying to fill a fantasy for a wide number of customers all of who have different ideas as to what is the perfect model or scene. So while it is perfectly alright to offer constructive criticism of what you like or do not like, or concerning what you might want or not want in a scene, remember that no company is ever going to be perfectly on the mark with every offering. Not every model is going to comply with your standards. Like mikeyank I also enjoy the classic straight kid we see as willing to allow a gay guy to service him. But I also know those guys were not all that common in real life, sometimes they were around and sometimes not. And frankly in real life it was not unusual for one of those kids to disappear for a while and then reappear - as gay as a drag queen.

One thing I have noticed a lot among the younger guys I deal with these days is that a lot of those old sexual stereotypes we had back when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s are now gone. Some of this is a good thing. My nieces and nephews all love me and love my husband. Their friends who know me have no issues. They see gay people as perfectly natural and cannot understand why anyone would think differently. But the other side of this is they do some things which for me mix the standards between what I consider gay and straight. Body hair sculpting, mannerisms and whatever. So a mannerism you might find effeminate, they seem as just a manner of expression. Welcome to the 21st Century.

I had already quit the site when this thread started, and I left for many of the reasons mentioned in the posts here.

Great post, Betu! It doesn't matter why we enjoy this site, just that we do. Some scenes may turn you on more than me and the opposite is true too and some may turn us both on, so it is all good.
