It kind of makes sense for gay models who have worked on other gay sites beforehand. They think loud and over-the-top histrionics are supposed to be part of the background soundtrack to gay porn. They don't realize when they come over to BSB that part of the niche of the site is that of amateur reality porn. So they still think what's expected of them is to be very vocal in a forced, unnatural way for the sake of the cameras.
I remember when Drake Tyler joined BSB. He was an experienced gay model who had worked elsewhere online. In his first batch of scenes here he was heavy into the fake moaning and verbalizing. He was also one of the few BSB models who joined us and posted in the forum. He was a very talented model and was welcomed warmly into the fold by members. In talking about the work he had done so far in his first scenes, one of the posters gently mentioned something to Drake about needing to lower his volume. He seemed genuinely surprised that the audience at BSB really didn't want a lot of fake moaning, screaming and yelling. He thought that was just expected. haha Just like at the other sites he had worked. We kind of told him that while we didn't want to see (hear) silent films per se, that we preferred that the vocals from models on BSB be less loud, more believable, and more organic to the course of the sex itself. He took note of that and genuinely incorporated that advice into his following scenes.
