As you all know my dad was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening. I haven't had a chance to see how all of his tests came out, but he was transferred today to a Rehab Facility for a couple of weeks where he will go through Physical and Occupational Therapy. Will keep everyone posted.

This hospitalization and Rehab was due to a minor stroke that he had Sunday evening. Thank goodness there was no paralization this time as there was when he had his first stroke a few years back and that one paralyzed his right side.

Gary,

Thank goodness it was a minor one and that your Dad is doing better. Hope it's not taxing you too much either. All my hopes and prayers.....

Hi Gary.
So glad to hear that your dad is on the road to recovery. That must be a huge weight off your mind.
Please keep us up to speed on how he is.
Best wishes to you.
Reub.
I'm also off to bed as i am on nights yet again.

Big relief for you that he's fine again. Take care of your own health mister, loved ones with health problems make for a lot of hidden stress that can leave you pretty knocked out.

Hi Gary
It is good to see it wasn't worse than first thought. I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

Gary I am so glad to hear the news about your dad. You and him will be in my prayor's. :thumbup1:

Thanks guys we really do appreciate the love and prayers.
It has been quite an ordeal for quite sometime. Not only does my dad have his health issues, but my mom has hers too. She was just diagnosed with Diabetes first part of the year and a couple of years ago, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. At present, she is in the advance stages of Alzheimer's. It hurts me to see how she suffers with it when she has her bad days for I know that is not my mom. God, how I hate the damn disease.

Gary,

I am glad to hear the news about your dad. My dad also suffered a very mild stroke about a year and a half ago. He is back in full health, so will your dad.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The Force is with you and Your Dad,

Love the person and hate the disease. I have now added her to my prayer list as well.:thumbup1:

Hey All, went over and got my mom after work this evening and we went over to see my dad. He seems to be doing pretty good and is getting his therapy, physical and occupational. We have a care conference with the nurse, therapist, social worker, and administrator on Wednesday the 13th.
Mom seemed to be doing real good tonight and all chipper. That is the way I remember her being all of the time.

Good afternoon everyone:
Dad seems to be progressing each day. I made my usual telephone calls today to let the church and others know of how he is doing. Have to take mom up to see the eye surgeon this afternoon as he is going to do a laser treatment on her left eye this time. She is having trouble seeing out of it due to cataracts.
Will keep all posted.

I talked to my dad this evening. He seems to be doing pretty good. Had another session of his Physical Therapy this afternoon.
Mom did good with her laser treatment this afternoon. This procedure was done to relieve some of the glaucoma pressure. Her pressure was 26 before the procedure, 24 after the procedure. Normal glaucoma pressure reading is 14-17. I got her back home right away so that she could have supper and just rest the evening. Said she was seeing everything blurry. She'll go back to the eye surgeon in two weeks for a pressure check. Will keep you all posted.
