Understanding Richie West's ranking

I am a bit perplexed when looking at Richie's ranking with the other boys. If you read all of the comments lately regarding Richie's performances and his bottoming abilities and then look at his number rankings, 4.49/5 and number 39th highest ranking boy, it somehow doesn't add up to me. No offense, but Marcus (a current bottom) ranking is 4.53 compared to Richie's 4.49. While I realize that "tops" seem to be ranked higher than "bottom's" I would think that an outstanding bottom should come in higher than a marginal top....I think Richie deserves better!

Oh it’s total bullshit. I mentioned this before a few weeks back, and it makes absolutely no sense at all. Basically I’ve just decided that these rankings don’t mean jack shit to me. There are a few people on that first page of highest rated that are an absolute joke. One in particular that I’ve heard people bitch about jokingly. So, when I sign on at 10 pm to watch a scene and see that it already has a rating of 2.72 (the latest scene with Derek and Grey to be exact), I’ve come to the conclusion that these ratings are really just a joke. Some take these ratings way too serious.....including Broke Straight Boys at times. Richie is the best bottom on the site and should be ranked accordingly over guys that can’t keep it up and have restrictions on what they’ll do in a scene. At least he interacts with us and makes the experience of this site more enjoyable. He knows his password to view his scenes and stats and cares about his fans. The rating system needs to be revisited and looked at and revised. As for now, I’ll continue to have my favorites and give them praise in the forum and scene threads and say a big “fuck you” to the ratings, because they certainly don’t represent my favorites.

That’s true. But, I think Richie West is the perfect example of a flawed system.

I think how everyone feels about the current scoring has been discussed for as long as I have been with Broke Straight Boys's and registered member of the forum. I completely agree with Peterh6308. my only hope is that Broke Straight Boys management doesn't base the scores only as their reason to ask some models back. I love your passion Jay, but I also like the fact you will follow your favorites no matter. Most of us agree with you about the flawed system, but it is what it is..........hasn't change in all of these years. Just remember it is only porn.

As much as I like Marcus as Broke Straight Boys's #2 bottom, there is no question in my mind that Richie is the #1 bottom. So your point is well taken. I rate scenes,which involves a rating for both of the models performing. Though I have never done it, I've noticed that you can go to "The Boys" section and rate a model as an individual. So I suggest that all Richie West fans tonight go to his bio on "The Boys" section, rate him a 5.0 and see what happens to his overall rating. He certainly deserves a higher rating, so let's all of us forumites do just that.

So getting true feedback is tough, this is why it is some important to vote. We do however base our models ranking on many factors and not just the rating system. It is a complex system. Richie will certainly be back so don't worry.

P.S. We can also vote Richie one of our favorites by clicking on that option on his bio in "The Boys" section. I just did it, as Richie deserves it for his dedicated taking of dick up his hot little ass for our viewing pleasure!

I’ve made past comments as well as another member about Ryan Pitt, and several members made comments about how starting threads about models we want to come back are pointless. But you’re saying here that you base your model’s ranking on many factors, not just the rating system. So, do our comments mean anything here on the forum? Asking for a friend and several others.
On a serious note, if the voting system has been used for a very longtime, yet members have been arguing over it for years, why not look into improving it? Just a suggestion. Hell, even our Presidential voting system has flaws.
I’m not trying to be a pain in anyone’s ass. I really do care or I wouldn’t be here.

Thanks Peter for pointing out that this discussion has been going on for a long time on the forum, and especially thanks to Mark for explaining that there are thousands of members of his site and we only hear from a tiny fraction on the forum. Therefore for him to make decisions on which models to bring back or not based on the comments of a handful who post here would not make sense. The forum is a place for us hardcore fans to banter back and forth with one another but is not a factor in the hiring or employment of models, nor should it be.

As far as Richie goes, I see that as of this moment he is on Page 2 out of 22 pages and he is ranked #44 out of 530 models and so that is a fantastic rating and as long as he is willing to return, I am sure that Sha and Mark will keep inviting him back. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Richie's ratings. He is doing great!!!!

One more note, when checking on Richie, I find it interesting that he is tied with Zach Covington and Oliver Saxton with a 4.49 rating, and they are very similar body types and performers, which shows to me that the rating system is working just fine as the people voting over the years are very consistent in their preferences.

Good point. Before I was a big Richie fan, I liked Zach Covington and before him Oliver Saxton. So if they all have the same overall rating, perhaps something is right about the rating system which gets the similar body types identical overall ratings. Like many things in life, the answer is often determined by how the question is phrased.

As far as the system we feel it actually works very well but as you said there is always room for improvement as you said.
