I am not sure if this will be of interest to anyone but I thought I would share it and see. I have lately been falling in love with my subscription to Netflix. It is so easy to use, both the mail order DVDs and mostly for the online on demand downloads. I have also found they have a nice selection of Gay Themed movies. These are not in anyway to be confused with porn. They are simply normal human stories with a gay backdrop to them. You will see romance but very little if any sex and even then very tastefully done and part of the story line. With all this in mind I have found many movies that I have found very interesting and am wondering if anyone else has done the same. Remember this is not porn as I do not want to distract from Broke Straight Boys which is why we are all here. Please keep that in mind while making your submissions. To get the ball rolling here are three movies I have recently watched.

1. “Shank” This is about a young man involved in gang activity when he finds out he is gay. His fellow gang members find out and mayhem insues.

2. “Twist” This is a modernized remake of the classic Oliver Twist in gay fashion. It takes place in Toronto and is just like the other story except this time the boys are pulling tricks instead of picking pockets. It is very interesting and humorous to watch although it is not a comedy, in fact the ending if very suspenseful.

3. “Angels and Monsters” This stars Brendan Fraser of the Mummy and is very hot. It is about an old movie director responsible for the old Bride of Frankenstein movies who is gay, and his straight grounds keeper. (Brendan F) Who he is trying to seduce.

I do not currently subscribe to Netflix, although I used to when it was done by mailing discs. I used to have a young guy named Matt, come to visit me on a regular basis then, and it gave us something to do, after "our fun".

But I also used to go see these kind of independent movies sometimes in Manhattan, and often in a theatre on Sunrise Blvd in Ft Lauderdale. I watched Angels and Monsters, and found it quite good. I related to the older gay director and his hot shirtless young straight gardener. I wonder why???

But just for the record, the movie we are making reference to is actually "Gods and Monsters" but then, at our age with our wealth of experiences, what's the big deal about a word or two! "Gods and Monsters" is a movie I find mesmerizing. The acting is superb and Brendan Frazier is so very vulnerable, adorable, and is perfect for his role of the gardener of a former Hollywood director. It is nostalgic, tragic, and pulls at your heartstrings. I find Brendan Frazier's performance so very endearing. Obviously, I highly recommend this movie to anyone, but especially for a gay audience.

i saw Gods and Monsters several months ago. i really liked the movie. i can't say enough about Brendan Frazier! i've had a hard-on for him since first seeing him! i don't ever read much about him in the media. Is he married? could he be bi or gay? wish,wish,wish.

Thanks for the tips Denny Bear. The first two movies I yet have to see. Gods and Monsters I really liked too as a drama.

But just for the record, the movie we are making reference to is actually "Gods and Monsters" Stimpy

This is the part of the story where I feel incredibly stupid and blame it on old age. But Stimpy you are absolutely correct of course and my apologies for leading everyone on a goose chase.

You are also correct in that it is a very good movie. If you didn’t like Brendan before you will after watching it. I don’t know if the man is gay or not but I know there is a lot of guys right now hoping he is. LOL

My Own Private Idaho. This stars River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves, two hustlers living on the streets of gritty Portland, whose relationship stumbles when they hit the road to find Mike's mother, and Scott falls for a woman. Scott's lifestyle is his way of embarrassing his rich, oppressive father, while Mike is a narcoleptic who's in love with Scott but maintains he's straight.

My Own Private Idaho is a fantastic film starring two very hot young actors at the time, in River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves. I am fairy certain that the director, Gus Van Sant is gay, and appreciates young male beauty as I do. Here are a couple of images from that film.
