Hi mikeyank... the model ratings you guys see and that spartans987 used are just straight averages. Nothing fancy there
Yes Bryce, Thank you for responding to us!
It always feels nice to know that we are not all alone in here when we're discussing the site itself. I know that you guys on the staff pick and choose the times and subjects in which you'll contribute to the conversations. Many of us totally understand that there are numerous reasons why you guys don't want to immerse yourselves into the forum, even if you had the time. haha
Hi back at ya
Brice Jones. First thanks for being an active participant on the forum and stepping in when you feel the need.
While it is not my own personal top 15, I can see it is a fair vote including
Jason Matthews going back to the first year of
Broke Straight Boys while the rest are from 2012-2015. My guess is the reason for the preponderance of models from the last four years is that model voting wasn't an option back in the days of
Broke Straight Boys-1 and so the most popular models from the "old days" were voted on in recent years and not when their scenes were being released, but it is an interesting and I do believe accurate tabulation. Again thank you
Brice Jones for your input.
I totally agree Mikey,
I think you hit the nail on the head. Members always had the chance to rate the individual scenes on the site. But model ratings were a newer feature. If people had been able to individually vote for models such as
Logan,
Diesal, Tank Shane and many other stars of
Broke Straight Boys-1...they would still to this day be much harder to dislodge from the top-rated (or at least higher rated) models of the site. The system
now still favors the
Broke Straight Boys-2 and later models in the rating system.
If you guys recall, even almost a year after
Broke Straight Boys-2 started, it was still difficult for any of the newer scenes to crack into the top 10 or 20. Not just because those scenes had a rougher start in the beginning, but mainly because the older scenes had such a head start of several years to accumulate probably tens of thousands (or more) of votes to back them up. So those scene ratings were strongly skewed in the opposite direction of the model ratings we have today.
Since I certainly don't want to appear to personally pick on any of the more current models by name, I'll just ask hypothetically: Is model "X" today (who's in say, the top 25 or so of highest rated models of the whole site) really "better" than Tank Shane,
Logan,
Diesal, Colin,
Jason Matthews,
Paul Canon and so on? Or is it just that newer members tend to focus more heavily (and vote) on the more recent scenes where the newer video technology makes the images more crisp and modern looking? Are the top 20 or 30 of the currently rated most popular scenes, really the "best" ones of the whole 7- 8 years of the site?
Whenever you get into to talking about averages of numbers to decide subjective decisions on beauty and popularity, you're going to have a tough time truly interpreting the data and deciding on the "fairness" of the tabulations. But of course our society thrives on numbers, ratings and the discussion of same. lol
