Guys,

I don't know if this has ever occurred to you - though I am sure it HAS - but this is, an EXCEPTIONAL forum.

Over the last decade or more (probably fifteen years or so), I have participated on a goodly number of gay (or gay-friendly) forums: including JustUsBoys, which I think is at least partially owned by the proprietors of this very site.

With the exception of one Eastern European site (which I loved very much): all of these forums have had ONE SINGULAR DEFICIENCY ~ they have had the atmosphere of a cheap, take-out, drive-through, restaurant. No respect for fellow-members; and certainly NO RESPECT for the models.

"You're too fat; you're too THIN; you don't have enough MUSCLE; you need LESS muscle; I hate your ACNE; I hate your HAIRCUT; you should show DOGGY-STYLE more often; you should STAND ON YOUR HEAD". . . that was the constant litany to all the models, on most of the North American sites I have visited.

THIS SITE seems VERY DIFFERENT. Here, people seem mostly to get together to praise, and thank, the models they love ~ and I think this is wonderful. People here seem mostly to recognize that the models are human beings, and often VERY nice ones. . . who come here for their own reasons, taking a significant career-risk as they do so. . . and who give something of their beauty (and privacy) to give A LITTLE INSPIRATION and HOPE to those of us who NEED that inspiration, and hope!

Maybe people like me, who didn't HAVE a boyfriend for 20 years, and whose boyfriend is now far away. Maybe people who are in other difficult circumstances, too. But it is an important HUMAN KINDNESS, these models do, for all of us.

I firmly believe that most of the people who patronize gay erotic sites are quiet, gentle, and GOOD people - who simply need a little beauty, and hope, and inspiration, in their lives. And while I know that, in the past and on certain sites (*SIGH*) a lot of the models have been troubled people, who have often even been used and abused because of their problems - I have a sense that Broke Straight Boys is a good place: where the models get together to earn some money, but are well-cared-for, and appreciated, as they do so. . . and where the members resepct them and APPRECIATE them.

This is a great place, and I love it, so much. The models are beautiful, sexy, and fun. The management is nice, and helpful. And the members are kind, and genuine people. I LIKE IT SO MUCH that I almost NEVER HEAR a bad word spoken, about a model, here: because members are MUCH MORE INTERESTED in praising and SUPPORTING the models they LOVE. I think that is WONDERFUL.

So, I am very glad to be here, with all of you. I am not sure why some places end up being so negative, and bad - - - and others, like this one, end up being so FRIENDLY, and CARING. I hope, someday, some brilliant sociology Ph.D. does a dissertation on how these disparate Internet cultures develop - it is really a MYSTERY to me!

But you guys are a NICE group of people, and I am so HAPPY to be here, with you all. I kind of feel at home, here with all of you ))

Ditto "A". I have kept my membership for this exact reason. We all may not agree completely about a scene, but we respect each others taste and like you said "we care about our models". Happy to have you on this site A. A pal in Seattle!!!

I couldn't agree with you more "Ambi". The people in here get along and are respectful even when they are in disagreement. The models are considered people first and performers second. We don't refer to them or treat them as mere sexual objects or a piece of meat. Many of us have strong genuine affection for them that goes far beyond merely our appreciation of the skill or entertainment value of their video work.

Thank you for conceptualizing all that so very well in your post.

We, at BluMedia, are very glad that you're enjoying the forums. We've had a few oops over the years with some members who just wanted to stir the pot (not in a good way) but despite all of them, the integrity of the forums stayed "pure", and it makes the board a nice place to be in. When I need to take a break from work, I often come in here to read what you guys have to say. Even though, I'm not really active, I always have my eyes open So feel free to contact me if you need anything.

Hi Ambivalent, you're so right, this is an amazing forum, and for the most part filled with wise, respectful and incredibly witty comments from interesting people with diverse backgrounds. It feels so good to be able to express a thought or an idea, not only on porn, but on any subject and know you'll be heard...at least by one person...I think poor Mark has to check every single comment!

Even the spats are usually compelling with both side presenting their reasoning's passionately...

Although, it's the Forumites who create the quality of the forum, like any group or community the over all atmosphere filters down from the top...in the case of Broke Straight Boys it's the wonderful men in Blu and I'm grateful.

I'm relatively new here but I've also been struck
by the quality of my fellow Forumites, their
genuineness, their willingness to share, and their
knowledgeability.

I'm much more isolated than I would choose to be
if I could design my ideal life circumstances, so
everytime I have a response to a comment I've
made here I feel less lonely.

You will never be lonely when your on this forum TG. I too am/get isolated, I have many close friends and a huge family, I live in the middle of Seattle but I live alone and chose to be by myself a few hours of the week. This forum is my social media when I'm not playing slots on FB and the bonus is we get to watch hot guys fuck!!! Win win situation.

The forum was once a nice tranquil place to visit. Nowadays it's like the rush hour traffic - I just can't keep up with things. Far too many repeated threads on subjects where threads already exist and far too many threads by models. I'm not saying that models shouldn't post but why don't they keep their thoughts in one thread - like Carter does. It's a bit like good housekeeping.

Isn't it always "the simple pleasures" that are among life's best things. Prepared as the Thanksgiving Turkey all moist with a beautifully browned skin, Blake would simply be good enough to eat, with or without the celery, as long as he came loaded to bare with succulent gibblet gravy!
