I enjoy watching porn and I am happy to have found the Broke Straight Boys site a while back. Now, when I first came upon the site, I started subscribing on a month to month basis. I figured like so many other sites I'd visited, I would find a hand full of scenes with guys I found attractive and then, that would be it. To my surprise there was a lot of scenes to choose from and a pretty sizeable bonus site selection!

While I was attracted to the "prospect" of STRAIGHT GUYs doing gay stuff for money, I came into it knowing that What you see isn't always what you get, so, I wasn't disappointed because I already knew, the percentage of real straight guys versus the whole "Kinsey Scale" application would vary from guy to guy. And of course, there are guys who are openly attracted other guys in porn featuring the "Straight" theme. I always tend to gravitate towards guys who appeal to me, generally having the face, body and demeanor I am attracted to with the least amount of effeminate affectation, but that's not to exclude guys who are openly gay, have bodies I find attractive and make it obvious that, their not just in it for the money but....for the sex too! They perform exceptionally well in my opinion under the right circumstances and with the right paired model.

One of my conundrums about watching porn is; When I see two models whom I find attractive are paired, the anticipation of a great visually stimulating scene for me to watch! This is based on my attraction for both models! Sometimes those scenes don't pan out the way I had envisioned in my mind and here's some of the reasons: Just because "I'm" attracted to them, they may not necessarily be attracted to each other, heck, they might not even "like each other as people"! So, for me to expect to see the kind of sexual dynamics that I would put on either or both of them? Not there. The other thing is: This is "work" for them. Just because they are porn performers, doesn't always mean they are there to get pleasure and give pleasure (although it's hopeful that it will look like that in the scene) at some point they may have to work very hard just to get an erection and keep it and then, ultimately, give a good performance and cum shot!

I do enjoy the fresh new, inexperienced guys who come in. Having very little prior filming and in some cases, probably very little SEXUAL experience period. I sometimes get that impression from their eagerness and willingness. They want to do a good job. Sometimes they actually perform better because of the fumbling, experimentation. Once they've done a few scenes, it becomes more apparent in their performances as they; need to remember things like camera angles, instead of being able to go full throttle, they have to learn how to "poke" their partners butt so that the camera can see the "penetration".

So watching porn can be a matter of allowing myself to focus on the things that stimulate me, be that the models, or the things captured by the camera since, I cannot be in the room to focus on the very things that I might. I have to remove all of my preconceived expectations sometimes and let my visual cues and imagination play a little. When I watch a scene and come away thinking "those guys really enjoyed what they were doing" then bravo to the production of that scene because, the making of that scene may have been anything...but!

I applaud the models both new and experienced on this site, for bringing the entertainment! Whether it's the scenes I enjoy or the scenes others may enjoy better, it's all entertainment. And that's what it's all for after all:dancingpenis:

You explained that very well, betu. You have covered exactly what I have felt on some of these scenes, but couldn't get into the right words. Thanks you.

Well written and great insight Betu. In regards to your comment on the pairing may not like each other, but perform well together on screen a scene comes to mind. Damien Kyle and Ian are a perfect example. They both have said on screen and off how they couldn't stand each other, but I think their scene together was probably each of their best scenes ever.

Very well said Betu. I am glad that you started this thread. There is certainly a lot that goes in to creating a scene and it always does help when there is chemistry of some kind as it contributes greatly to the finished product. I have found that many models don't realize all of the challenges that they will face until they make it to the studio. Some learn quicker than others but at the end of the day almost all of they guys that I have worked with over the years really do strive to do well.

I imagine it's an awful lot more WORK than most people think. Most probably think they'll come in, have sex, and get paid. But I imagine it takes a long time to shoot a scene -- really long time, in some cases. There's lighting and makeup and staging and a couple other people in and out and directing and filming, so it's got to be about the furthest you can possibly get from intimate and sexy! Plus promo shoots and interviews and going for testing, travel back and forth, etc. It can probably get rather tedious, actually. And then staff and models get to put up with members on the forums bitching and complaining -- or showering one guy with compliments while ignoring or complaining about another, which I imagine causes tension between some people and hurt feelings. So I'm sure Broke Straight Boys staff has to also be team motivators and cheerleaders and therapists and big brothers/dads to these guys. It sounds like a lot of work to me!

So, all THAT said -- and I know I do as much bitching as anyone else -- I think the Broke Straight Boys crew and the models all do a laudable job and are deserving of our thanks and praise. Whether we like individual scenes or models, an awful lot of work goes into bringing us this material (and I'm just guessing at a lot of this as I have no inside knowledge of how a studio works), so THANKS!

Actually, that might be an interesting BTS video -- an actual behind the scenes/day in the life to give everyone a look inside the real workings of Broke Straight Boys and what goes into making the scenes. I know there used to be some of that, but it always ended up more about the boys goofing around in the house and making it all look like summer camp. I'm talking the real reality of the business. The tv show hit on some of that, and that's the stuff I thought came across the best, and not, again, the boys horsing around playing paintball or go-carts or any of that staged "reality tv" stuff. Just a thought.

Scott, I'd second that suggestion for a BTS video of a shooting session. Of course, that could be something that might turn some people off to see how long it actually took for someone to get a cumshot. I'd love to see some of that, but magicians usually don't give away their trade secrets.:001_tongue:

Great points Scott, and some real behind the scenes of Broke Straight Boys would be welcomed by this viewer.

Interesting that you mention that OF! I remember watching the scene

I was somewhat conflicted in my enjoyment of the actual scene: after that! To realize or hear how much "it was very painful" for Skyler.:crying1: The out take scene was released later on after the actual scene.

So, sometimes, the "conundrum" is also knowing more, or knowing less of what goes on behind the shoot? At least for me. But, I also recall the scene in which Johnny Forza and Brandon Beal and Blake Bennet did a three way. While my observation of the scene was, I felt bad for Blake as he seemed to be in pain and was not enjoying it.....I later found that he enjoyed the scene a lot! In fact, what looked like pain in my observation was (by his own admission) an intense feeling of Pleasure at some point! So, for me at least, sometimes it can go either way, knowing what goes on to film a scene!

Another interesting “blast from the past” thread from the forum, began by Betu who Peter and I met in upstate New York during our Fourumite Trip, nine years ago. Sadly Betu passed away a few years later, as a young man from an apparent heart attack. He was a masculine, athletic black gay man who had a straight white boyfriend. His straight boyfriend strictly bottomed while Betu was an exclusive top. So many interesting people I’ve met over the years, both virtually and in real life. This forum has enriched my life in so many unexpected ways.
