Stop Posting in Blue Script

Being from the South, I guess I must admit I have a case of the BLUES....

It's too hard to read.

Dear Robin,

If you are using a white background, then I would have to agree with you completely. Following the software upgrade for Broke Straight Boys, we first only had available a "white background" and I too found Cyan hard to read. I had to use a slightly darker color "Teal #008080" in Bold for it to show up sufficiently. When finally given the choice, I selected for my own use the black background and it really makes Cyan(blue) pop on the page and I have been using "Cyan" for years now on Broke Straight Boys I am sorry my color choice does not work for you. I am not the only forumite that uses colored fonts, but I am probably more visible than others due to frequent postings, I guess.

If you have another color choice other than black or white, I will at least consider it as an option. Based on other's monitors, another forumites has expressed a difficulty in reading "Yellow", while someone else objected specifically to my use of avocado green which I have been refraining from using ever since, until now. In my personal life, I have always felt free and realized a need to use colorful inks throughout my life when expressing myself in writings (besides black or dark blue). It is like a personal signature of mine, developed over many years. Old habits die hard, sorta like rigamortis when it is first setting in.

Hope we can work something out that is liveable. (I HATE BEING LIMITED TO WRITING "ONLY" IN WHITE OR BLACK! IT SEEMS DOWNRIGHT POLARIZING, UNNATURAL, AND POSITIVELY SINFUL TO ME! AND WE ALL KNOW ABOUT THE WAGES OF SIN, NOW DON'T WE!) EVEN MY ATTEMPT AT "TONGUE-N-CHEEK HUMOR" SEEMS GUTLESS AND FLAT WITHOUT COLORFUL LETTERS!

For me this is not a Stimpy post... So sorry to say, the score is 2-1 in favor of a colorful Stimpy...

when trying to read almost any color using the light skin, you have trouble reading. yellow is impossible.
i learn to highlight the text and read the post! however, i have little trouble reading post with color using the dark skin.
i prefer the dark skin!

I prefer the dark skin!

Once you go black, you'll never go back!

Stimpy, I really don't think this post was started against your cyan colored print. The cyan color shows up well no matter which background color is chosen. The dark blue, which I have seen in some posts, is extremely difficult , if not impossible, for me at least, to read on a black background, but reads well on the white background.

I hope by now I have thoroughly confused you, because so am I at this point. I just don't think Christopher was referring to your beloved cyan when he started this thread. If I am wrong, I apologize to Christopher, but I see your cyan very well.

P.S. I just read Robert's post and was not aware cyan was hard to read on a white background. I don't remember it being hard for me to read your posts before the update to the system was implemented. Now I am confused. Must be time for another pill (or two).

I use the white background almost exclusively. On my phone, the cyan and yellow are really difficult to read. However, I realize it's my choice to use the white background and if I'm having trouble, I can switch to the black skin to make it easier. Highlighting the text on my phone doesn't work like on my laptop and I almost exclusively use my phone. I just deal with it.

Between a rock and a hard place, colorwise at least...

It's too hard to read.

robert! somehow i knew someone would say that! clearly black is the better choice!

If I see yellow or blue I don't read..

To all concerned:

Thank you for those who came to my defense in this contentious matter. I especially want to thank Robert for both your comment and your sexy black skin photo (also appreciated your helpful suggestions for those having trouble with my font color), Rob (Buckeye1) let me say that I am confused too by all the fuss, jon I am confused by your response since I mostly use "cyan" (are you defining this as falling under the blue category, too?), and finally Laura thank you for being so tolerant and accepting.

Just like former President Clinton, I too have stated that depends "What Is Is?" or in this specific case "What Blue Is?" The first two posters, namely "Christopher Robin" and "Juanjo" complained of someone posting in "BLUE" and it is too hard to read, whereas I really post in "CYAN", and not "BLUE"! I don't mean to split hairs but as you can see, there is a great big hair's difference between these two colors. Please clarify this foggy issue for me? Otherwise, I remain confused and between a Blue rock and a Cyan hard place! See how I might have a thing or two in common with Bill Clinton, other than Monica of course!

Waiting for your response.

Sincerely :001_unsure: :sadwavey:

Let's boycott those white background members... and start publishing in white! Have a cigar!

This thread sort of made me feel bad since I seem to be one of those that always use colors and fonts. The main reason I do so besides just liking the look is it is much easier for me to read when I am proof reading my post before sending it. I have a terrible time trying to read that small grey white default font. Can I claim disability and ask the court for mercy?

Now we have it!

Hate your plain text Denny. Better smile... it'll keep you from crying!

PS: Why shoot an innocent bear? Do you like my new font color? It's not too cyan... nor too yellow... it's a bright contrasting white! Heard no complains from "white screen babes" so far.

Stimpy and Denny - It's because I use the white skin. Yes after all the hullabaloo of the black skin I changed to white as it's better on my eyes.

One of the little Blue pills maybe Robb? haha

Actually now Christopher is feeling bad for starting this thread because of some of the impassioned responses. It all comes down to which skin you are using when viewing the forum. The dark blue is very difficult and time consuming to read for those who are using the black skin. Dark blue however looks great and is very legible on the white skin. Cyan looks great on the black skin and is somewhat harder to read on white. I'm partial to the cyan myself. haha I don't think anyone has said that we should stop using color. Those who want to use dark blue can do so as they please of course. It should just be kept in mind that using dark blue for a whole paragraph or an entire post will likely be read and responded to by fewer people. Because it's difficult on the eyes for those reading it against a black background.

I think that's the gist of the point C.R. was trying to make. :)
