Richie West makes his debut on Helix Studios

I agree that it was a coup for Broke Straight Boys for Helix to film Richie. Also note his revealing dialogue where Richie describes his being a total bottom for years, began to feel that it was getting old, topping for the first time at age 20, and wanting to top more to become a truly vers model which he then shows by fucking his scene partner (and he has also topped more than bottomed so far over at College Dudes). He also mentioned something that I think is very true particularly for twink models, that younger guys start off by bottoming and after a few years start topping. I can think of a number of cute twink 18 years old models who were total bottoms in their first year or two in gay porn, and only thereafter started to do some topping scenes. Finally, thanks to Mark for being open minded enough to do this post. Several gay websites censor even the mention of one of their models doing work for a competitor site. So Broke Straight Boys is taking the higher more open and refreshing road.
 
I think it is a good trend that studios share their models and are not exclusive anymore. This gives the models more work and they can experience their job from another perspective. It may enhance their performance when they return to Broke Straight Boys for new scenes. I just hope they keep their same stage name so it is easy to find them. It may also have the potential that more members will sign up to a Broke Straight Boys subscription (e.g. new Richie fans at Helix join here to see Broke Straight Boys Richie scenes).

Good point. I hate it when they change their names. It accomplishes nothing except create confusion.

This question will show my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to porn: what about helix makes it such a big deal that Richie's filming there?

Honestly, I think Richie tweeted that it was a dream site for him, and Helix is very popular and is pretty much 98% twinks. There’s also no mention of “straight” anywhere. I actually think it’s great for Richie and if it’s been a dream of his then I’m proud for him.
I will say, however, that I disagree with Nitefly when I say that I prefer more exclusive models to Broke Straight Boys Everybody’s different and I certainly respect Nitefly’s opinion. I just joined Broke Straight Boys mainly because I could view guys that I didn’t see anywhere else or all over twitter. I’m only a member of Broke Straight Boys and College Dudes and can’t really afford to join any other sites. I don’t expect every model to be brand new without any previous experience, but boy do I sure love the ones that are new....like Sky and Ethan Erickson and Elijah Scott. Those are my favorite types. But hey, just my preference.

In terms of number of subscribers over the years, Helix is one of the big gay porn sites. It began as a twink site, has evolved into a early to mid twenties site, having started a spin off site, 8teenboy for 18-20 year olds (which also established a feeder system as the teen aged twinks hit their twenties). That is why it is both a big deal for Richie and a coup for Broke Straight Boys to have Richie film there, particularly since Richie will return to Broke Straight Boys and College Dudes It kind of gives both Richie and Broke Straight Boys some additional star appeal.

I agree with you. We didn’t join Broke Straight Boys for recycled porn queens. Helix is the kind of site that many men enjoy but not me. It’s just pretty gay twinks having lesbian sex. I bet the one who has to top drew the short straw. Richie should be right at home.

The reason you and I bonded in the first place Rep, was our mutual attraction to inexperienced, new to porn straight or believably straight guys on Broke Straight Boys Broke Straight Boys seems to be going the route of using a porn agent to get much of their talent today, rather than getting guys never seen before in the gay porn world. I so prefer the new, original and exclusive at least during their time here.

That is true. When I told Mark that my choice of a model's underwear for him to send me was Jake's. He told me that Jake was not currently filming and if I wanted an alternative choice or to wait, and I choose to wait. LOL
