I had watched a few of Richie West’s YouTube videos in the past, when he was talking about former models and studios as I know his main studio has been here, and so the models are mostly our models. I had decided to stop watching his stuff because he annoys me so much, but his videos still pop up into my YouTube feed and I usually ignore them, but this one again seemed to be about the porn industry and so I watched.

He announced that he is quitting the industry for the second time, which is his decision and that is fine, but again he put down his fellow models and the people he worked for. He didn’t name any names, but he said most models give a “bare minimum effort” into their performances and are just there to get a check and go home. He also said, that out of all the models he worked with only one or two are okay but the others are “not my kind of people”. He called the models, “Low Vibrational”, whatever that means. Then he said that “the producers and photographers don’t care about you”. He also mentioned that, “All money is not good money”. And that he wasted his time in the adult industry.

I know he has worked for a few other studios besides Broke Straight Boys, but the vast majority of his scenes were here and that means Sha and Bryce in Atlanta and David and Eddie in Florida, and all the models he worked with on Broke Straight Boys I think the kid is delusional and has his own issues, but as a long time member and fan of this site, I was offended by what he said. Here is the link to the video and see if anyone interprets his comments differently than I did. I admit I was not a fan of his porn, so perhaps my opinions are prejudiced against him. Please feel free to disagree with my take on this video.

I don’t follow Richie’s channel, but like you Mikey, some of his videos show up on my suggested videos page. Probably because I used to follow him or maybe because I’ve watched a video or two of his in the past.
I’m gonna give this video a pass. The last video I did watch was the one about dating a 76 year old, where at the end he says that we as humans start to lose it at a certain age and especially people that are reaching 80 start to become kookie (basically losing it) and it happens to all of us. It was at that point that I decided not to invest anymore time in anything associated with this young man.
Last time we had these discussions I was called vindictive. Let the record show that I didn’t start this thread even though I have known about the comments about older people for quite a while. But since the subject was brought up I gave my opinion.
I wish Richie the best but he’s young and needs a personal assistant to help him with what he should and should not say on social media.

He just appeared on another site as a bottom & back of Corbin in same role.

And Mikeyank….I wasn’t trying to suggest that you were being vindictive by starting this thread. Lol. I actually appreciate you bringing the subject up.

I will vouch for you Jay. It was mikeyank who started this thread. Send all complaints to me via the Broke Straight Boys forum. Lol

Richie just needs to watch what he says & use his natural gifts which have a limited time span as manyother have found out.

He seems to have been all over the place lately including many niche sites where he has played a boy scout, step son, young patient of pervert doctor, grandson of horny grandfather including numerous other mainstream sites! All those sites want him for one thing only - getting fucked. So while at the end of his days with Broke Straight Boys and College Dudes, his wish for more topping scenes was being granted, the rest of the gay porn market has spoken, and Richie is back to 100% bottoming.

I just watched it and have a few thoughts both positive and negative. Richie certainly does have a high opinion of himself for someone who went into the industry at age 19 after attempts to work full time "did not work out." From prior comments I have heard from him, he took some community college courses in Phoenix but never apparently attended college full time, and considers himself more highly educated, intelligent, great acting and personable than he is. Also he seems to want it both ways of appreciating essentially having the last four years off from full time work and making great money due to the industry but blaming it for everything simultaneously. That's the bad part. I have never heard him say a bad word about Broke Straight Boys of his early days here. Recall that it was Mark himself who posted Richie's first YouTube video on his industry reflections, so apparently Mark took no offense. While it is true that Richie when speaking likes to unfairly paint with a broad brush with phrases like "all porn studios" and "all porn directors", I think that he enjoyed his scenes at Broke Straight Boys and the fellowship with other models, and that may have been a cause of his problem when he went to studios not so oriented, i.e. that his Broke Straight Boys days caused him to mistakenly assume being friends with the other models. For example, he said that the day before every scene, he would seek out his scene partner to meet and talk to him and establish a connection. Why did he seek to do that? I think because his Broke Straight Boys days taught him to do and assume that, and he was let down by rejections of him by other models at other studios. At this point I believe that he has far more scenes post Broke Straight Boys than with Broke Straight Boys He may have been correct that he put more effort into acting out his scene roles than others as he was good in that regard in every Richie West scene I ever saw. Where he falls short in my opinion is his "have your cake and eat it too" attitude towards the industry, especially when one contrasts him with former Broke Straight Boys star model Oliver Saxon, who was a full time college student and used his gay porn income during his industry work on school breaks and occasional weekends to finance at least in part his college education, and used that credential to good effect when he either aged out of porn or just retired when he landed a good job out of college. Oliver in my opinion had a more practical and balanced view towards the industry than Richie. And Richie left one thing out that both he and Oliver appreciated: They got paid to have sex with a lot (although perhaps not all) of really hot guys to whom they were strongly sexually attracted and really enjoyed it! One thing in life that cannot be faked is a hard on, and I rarely saw a Richie film when he was not hard even when bottoming. A few years back Broke Straight Boys had a contest for the members where first prize was an unwashed pair of used underpants with the dried cum stains of a star Broke Straight Boys model of the time still in them, and there was a second $100 prize. Well Richie was the model who drew the winner of the $100, and he drew my name, which I used for my next year's Broke Straight Boys membership. So that, plus I always enjoyed Richie's scenes, thought that for his initial Broke Straight Boys period, he was Broke Straight Boys's best bottom, and that his epic scene with Sky Clesi where Sky cream pied him shooting his load inside of Richie's hot ass and the viewers watched all that cum slowly seep out was one of Broke Straight Boys's best scenes ever! So I wish this troubled young man the best and hope that he finds some line of work where he can support himself for the rest of his life once he uses up his gay porn money. For he said that he has never successfully worked full time and has shown no sign that he used his college age years to get a good college education and develop a marketable skill outside of the industry.

I like your post kg. You have always been a big Richie fan, yet you objectively commented on his YouTube video here. I largely agree with your observations.

I appreciate that as I know that you have strong feelings on him as well.

KG I find your comments very well thought out & of great value in trying to understand Richie & Oliver. TY for taking the time to explain.

WOW the ego on this kid!!!! He's talking like he was at the top of his field (just received an Oscar) and he's stepping away at the top of his game. I appreciate the confidence he has himself, but he's blinded on who he really is in the porn industry. Johnny Rapid, Michael Delray, Cliff Jensen, Dacotah Red, Sean Ford, Roman Todd etc these guys are pornstars in the adult entertainment industry. Ritchie is a porn model who filmed in the porn industry, big difference!!!

Age my friend. The young are in a different time. And they will soon be passed by for yet the next decade of young new players.

If you have seen my thread you know I devote a large portion to the last century. Just today I highlighted a model named Bo Richards from the 1980's, who now a days remembers him & the others such as Jon King that I have posted.

I am not at all familiar with this guy and have never seen any of his content at all. But I watched about the first 10 seconds of the above-mentioned youtube video and got so annoyed with his droning, whiny and lilty voice, and his apparent assumption that he is an expert in his field, that I stopped watching shortly there-after. I have also made a mental note not to watch any scenes that he's in, as I find him very annoying within only 10 seconds of watching!

You will discover that a lot has changed since you were last here Abe. Over the years a model being “believably straight” has taken a back seat and I totally agree with you about Richie West but he has been very popular.

I would suggest you search out Jake Spencer, Ethan Steel, Benjamin Dover and Calhoun Sawyer to see some of the more traditional Broke Straight Boys types. I’m sure other members can suggest others who might appeal to you.
