Question to management regarding new scenes being filmed

I fully understand the whole COVID situation and how testing is ultra important before filming anything, especially porn. However I do know that there are quick results COVID tests now available and that is how professional and potentially college sports can resume. I also know that they are used in Washington DC and elsewhere for government officials as well. Wouldn't it be possible to hire a group of models and ask them to self isolate for a period of time and then bring them to the studio where they are given testing and upon the results to film new scenes? I belong to no other porn sites than Broke Straight Boys, but I have been told that some sites are filming again.

And when Broke Straight Boys resumes shooting, I would love to see some brand new models added to the mix. For me the whole concept of Broke Straight Boys is to introduce guys new to porn and hopefully new to gay sex. I am a loyal member of this site and as long as we have an open relatively "censor free" forum and the rates remain the same, I am not leaving. But I really hope that we get an infusion of some young new talent to spice things up once they can begin shooting again. I used to anxiously check the next upcoming scene hoping for someone new to be introduced or for someone to be brought back who was exclusive to Broke Straight Boys, like Jake or Jonny Cox or even Ben Dover who I believe only works here.

I do love Broke Straight Boys for the forum and the glorious past going back to the days of Broke Straight Boys-1 and David's boys on the futon, through the early days of Broke Straight Boys-2 with Clay's boys, and the move to Colorado and some of the greatest models ever, all new at the time to gay porn. But things have gotten a bit stagnant lately and I'd love to see an infusion of some hot new talent. Any updates on developments for new shoot weeks would be very much appreciated.

You read my mind. The 100 days of summer is a nice idea but I don’t think they are signing up new members on that. I’m afraid if there isn’t some great new material it’s going to hurt Business. I’m a loyal fan also but I’m board stiff. Well stiff isn’t the right word. Could I say limp? Lol. Jay keeps referring to a stash of unreleased scenes but why aren’t they using them if they have them. I just hope there is new exciting material soon.

With the 2nd wave of Covid reaching the USA and now Europe, I think it's very selfish to even suggest more filming. However, I do think that the site should reduce it's subscriptions during this crisis. Don't forget, the members are having hard times as well as the models and keeping members at a reduced subscription is better then losing them forever.

Yes enquiring minds want to know. Some studios are definitely up and going. There is testing available but it must be challenging.

I look at this somewhat differently I guess. I feel that as a loyal member of the site, as well as downright personal feelings of concern, respect and admiration for the staff members of the site, that I will continue to maintain my membership even if they do run out of scenes in the can. For those of us in a situation where we are retired, semi-retired, or otherwise fortunate enough to be in stable financial shape where the tanking economy is not leaving us unemployed, without an income (or less income than before)...I think it's practically a virtuous practice to keep supporting small businesses, family owned restaurants and self-employed people in various occupations where and when we can. If we don't help to keep them afloat during the worst of times, we risk not having them around at all once things finally turn around for the better.

I have friends out west who have two cleaning ladies who make their living doing only that. Cleaning houses for a roster of private clients. He knows they're hurting. Because of Covid my friend and his wife don't allow non-family members in the house for now. My friends are retired professionals with fairly generous pensions, 401K, Social Security, etc. And even though they're not necessarily rich, they're comfortable financially. Even now during this Covid recession. In spite of not receiving any house cleaning service from them for the last several months, he still regularly mails them both checks for their usual rate of pay. The feedback he has gotten, not surprisingly, is that they are extremely grateful for the consideration.

So to bring this back around again, while I do reserve the right to praise or critique various scenes offered to us...or even such things as a lack of new blood in model selection...I wouldn't leave the site even if they were forced to stay shut down in any new filming for extended periods of time.

Appreciate your comments Tampa, but guess we're in different situations and, at the end of the day, it's an individual decision whether just to hang around like yourself, or to leave and wait for better times. I have not renewed my membership so I will see you on the other side

This is an interesting question, especially as it seems pretty clear that the world will have the virus for a while yet, possibly years.

I'm in a country where an early lockdown has eradicated the virus in the community. But to maintain that status, the Government is requiring people coming into the country to isolate for two weeks. That's because you can test negative for the virus as long as 12-14 days after you were infected.

So - to be sure no models had the virus while filming, Broke Straight Boys would have to isolate them for two weeks prior to filming. And I mean isolate them, singly. Here, the people being quarantined are held individually in hotel rooms for two weeks, with food brought in.

For Broke Straight Boys to do this or something like it would be a huge expense obviously, even if you could get five or six young men to agree to sit in a hotel alone for two weeks.

My hope is for better testing and a vaccine. Until these arrive, I do think making porno flicks is one industry that is going to struggle.
