Question About Ratings - For Manangement

I wonder if Mark, or Sha or Bryce might be able to answer this question. How exactly are the model ratings calculated? We have three ways of voting, for the individual models on their page, and on their scenes, both for the over-all scene and on the individual models performance in each scene.

Are the ratings that we see next to their names, a combination of all three and if so, which are weighted more heavily? I would presume the model page ratings and the individual's own scene ratings would rank higher than he over-all scene ratings, but I'd love to get the true answer from management. Thanks.

Mikeyank, I am sure you are looking for the answer as to why Tanner, I would assume he would be the highest rated, could possibly be number 7 in ranking of most popular boys....lol...I am trying to figure that out as well........

I think Tanner's ratings were damaged by such things as being paired with unpopular models, like Brad Banks, Sebastian Lee (remember that fucking hair?) Rowan Adams (who couldn't keep a hard dick even with Tanner!). And then of all fucking things, he was paired with Flip. I nearly flipped over that one.

All these things would damage anyone's rating.

I'm just thinking and I'd love to hear the answer to this question.

It's not like Tanner has taken a "nose dive" in the ratings or anything. As of this posting, Adam & Johnny Forza are tied at 4.57, while Jos Alvarez, Brady, Brandon, Ronan Kennedy and Tanner are all tied at 4.56. That's even closer than the last presidential election, and we don't even have an electoral college here to my knowledge. lol

So Tanner is still one percentage point from #1 all time. But my question still is, does the individual scene ratings and the model ratings within the scenes affect these numbers? This is a pre-holiday weekend, so we may not get a quick answer, or any answer at all, but I will wait patiently to find out. I'm not going anywhere, so whenever we find out, will be fine with me. I'm a yenta by nature, and yenta's want to know!

I would add to your list Tanner's scene with Ashton Taylor, the 18 year old kid who refused to bottom The frustrating result was a scene where Tanner had to bottom for Ashton, who had less than average endowment and difficulties maintaining his erection. Tanner did his best to sell that scene, but there was only so much he could do. Concerning Flip, like you I do not care for him at all. But in one instance he lived out the saying "Even a blind Squirrel occasionally will find some nuts", when in one scene Flip fucked Oliver Saxon, shot his load in Oliver's butt, and the viewers then got to see Flip's cum slowly ooze out of Oliver's ass. Very rare to see and very hot. Unfotunately, that was Flip's one and only moment in the sun as his scenes before and after that one were just not that good.

Good theory and in the end, Studdd maybe correct. However, Management has this disclaimer(see below) regarding model's over all performance is not based on "lousy" models. I am paraphrasing, but that is the way I see this. Now my understanding(and until Management says differently) is that the 5 stars that you have the option of filling in for a model affects their rankings on the page more than anything. They obviously carry the biggest weight in Management's statistical algorithm here. Before I began composing my comments for this entry, I played around with my theory. It appeared to have the biggest effect.

It will be interesting what Sha or Mark has to say in regards. Happy Sunday!!

Thanks for answering my question Bryce. And I am a bit surprised that our model rating after a scene ranks higher than our over-all model rating, but obviously both factor in the final score.

And while I'd like the exact ratio, but I do understand as I guess it's like McDonald's can't give the exact recipe of the special sauce either. lol

Thanks Bryce! This helps me understand the 5 way tie now going on and why their photo is in that particular place. Just giving them 5 stars without watching their scenes would make this a "popularity" contest. Your algorithm associates the star and their scene performance. Again, my probable speculation only. )))))

Just another thought. I was reminded yesterday afternoon by a longtime forumite friend of mine, how years ago there was a member of Broke Straight Boys management who went by the moniker of "Web Monkey", and when asked about how management gauges the popularity of individual models, he told us that it was a combination of factors, including ratings, (in those days we could only give one vote after a scene, and not individual model ratings), private messages and emails to management, forum postings, and the most important factor was "hits" on a scene.

I had forgotten about that until I was reminded yesterday, but I imagine that is the true rating for management to use, much as with the television ratings, as if we like something we will watch it and if we do not, we won't. This is a separate issue from how the ratings are determined, but still a pertinent factor for us to keep in mind about which models are invited back and which are not.

That's obvious that we love him and that all we talk about is him. But what if Johnny Forza was here? What about Adam? Maybe if they were here we would talk more about them.

The fact that we don't have any new scene with them to comment doesn't mean people don't love them and watch their old scenes.

And we are a small sample of the viewers… We have to consider that a lot of people who are not in the forum also rate the scenes and the models.

Even the new guys who have a good rating... I don't think it is fair to say that it is easy because they have fewer votes… We have to consider that some of them are making a great job and they deserve their ratings.

To me that's all a matter of opinion… I could write Diesal's name a hundred times a day and it wouldn't change his ratings… He is number 1 to me…

Awesome analysis Bart!! "It may be just you", but it clearly explains the justification of the model's positions on the boards. As you stated. just because it's "all about Tanner Valentino" here, that doesn't mean that the entire Broke Straight Boys membership agrees! In fact, there may be a few posters that "hold their noses" and comment in a "positively" way in his favor, as support for those who do really love the boy! That is all well done and fine as far as I am concerned; that's what friends are for.

Furthermore, this is another reason I like to go to the main comment section and to the individual scenes and read those posts. Many are not totally positive. As for the older scenes, there are members who still comment and leave their votes currently. When I went back and viewed those, I certainly did. There are many that were filmed a decade ago that have comments with this year, 2017, as the post date.

We have to look at the whole picture here when talking about ratings; consistent commentators in a forum have the same analytical weight as the anonymous commentator carries on the main pages.

Tanner has 8 scenes in the first two pages, if you arrange the scenes according to the rates. And none of them is his last one, with Jared.

It's difficult for me to understand why, since that was my favorite scene ever made. And I may think 'did these other people watch the same scene I just did?’. But the thing is, when we watch a scene we put a lot of our own feelings in it. How can I explain that? The evaluation is subjective… like when you look at a painting… Some people look at Monalisa and feel like crying… I look at it and all I think is 'What an ugly lady!’. What we Feel or how we react to things can't be measured in numbers… no matter how great the system is.

I hope my friend Tyler doesn't mind me using him as an example… Tyler and I could say we have a similar 'taste’. If we had to describe the perfect man, physically speaking, we would probably describe a very similar guy. But I am sure that if we check his Favorite Page and mine it would be very different… The same things that make a particular scene special to me are the ones that make it not so good to other people…

Believe me, being the control freak I am I would love that everyone think exactly the way I do… but it is not possible…

I know your love for Tanner would be enough to put him in the first place… In your ranking he will always be number 1 and that's all that matters...
