Watching the latest scenes I am understanding and agreeing about what some of the members are stating about robotics. What I am looking for is the performers actually enjoying the moment. If they are getting a blow job they should be enjoying it and not just going through the motions and why are the majority of them jacking themselves off at the end, would like to see some natural cum scenes where they cum as a result of their partner bringing them to that point. I most definitely agree with you Sparty. In the old scenes, specifically the D&E produced scenes of BSB1, the guys did "stumble around" and look uncomfortable as they began their scenes doing what they were required to do for money, but the magic happened when we could see the look of pleasure on their faces as they realized how fucking good it felt to be fucking and sucking with another guy. Maybe they were better actors or maybe David was a better director, but to me, the pleasure looked real. I can still see in my mind those looks on the faces of Tyler Evans Mike Robbins, Shane, (Tank) and Logan to name just a few.

During BSB2, after the initial unsuccessful try to recreate that magic by literally throwing money on their naked bodies and making the models say demeaning things to the camera, they went in the opposite direction to where all the scenes became the current formula of gentle kissing, undressing themselves or each other, mutual sucking and then three positions of fucking following by the cum shots. "Robotic" is a good way to describe the typical scene on Broke Straight Boys today.

Damn Spartan! You really do bring up some great topics! In my opinion! I too enjoyed at lot of what the older scenes brought about! I like to theorize from the things I've seen: Back in the earlier days, it was a time when; conceivably, you could walk down the street and meet a guy, possibly talk him into coming in for a "photo shoot" and just like what was depicted in David's earlier scenes, make that whole thing work. What happened sometimes, could be as much a surprise to the "model" as it was to the people filming. You got real (or at least more realistic) expressions of the guys as they weren't seemingly obsessed with: Ratings or whatever other pressures may exist today from the studios and their performance. Now, everything seems "Commercialized". Both from the models and the studios. Models seek out the studios as an opportunity to make money, motivated by the influences of the times. Models are more aware of what they are getting into and often times, use agencies or whatever. The commercialization to me was "The loss of innocence".. One would have to find guys who live in a remote part of the universe and naïve to the internet to get that back. Or, there are tons of average looking guys out there who would probably work too....but, there's a very limited audience for average looking guys......

Very good observations by you 3 guys! As Broke Straight Boys evolved the membership did become younger, and I think that greatly influenced the move to a more . "slam bam" shoot. It is unfortunate for us who appreciate the nuances developed in a slower paced seduction of someone. Even more so, when that someone wants to or feels compelled to resist. David had some brilliant moments during his run and produced some videos that for me, are priceless and timeless. Videos I still go back to today, and even when there are perhaps prettier boys and much more bump and grind in today's videos. I'm with you 100% JLipps. It's all about the archives of films and the forum, not the current scenes being produced. I watch some where the guys are hot or intriguing, but many I just skip over.

I went back and watched some scenes from the College Dudes archives and a few scenes I've placed in "Favorites" here on Broke Straight Boys to include the latest scene with Tanner and Levi. The conclusion I come to is: direction may play part in what makes a scene turn out great but, the models doing what feels good and or comes naturally in a given scene situation is what appealed to me the most. Very little (if any) looking into the camera for direction, good eye contact between the models, natural looking facial expressions! If the scenes were rehearsed then, the execution was flawless! Maybe the direction was: Do what feels comfortable or natural?
