Talk about a BTS where all questions were answered! One of my first questions was, Out of all the models over at
College Dudes, why did they choose Owen to bring over here? Answer: Owen was first hired by
Broke Straight Boys He met the staff and told them that he didn't want to be an exclusive model to
Broke Straight Boys because he needed to make a lot of cash quickly.
College Dudes does not have a stringent expectation of model exclusivity to their site. So he started there where he presumably honed his skills as a gay for pay model and then made the rounds of several porn studios. He felt he had no choice but to be rather mercenary about it because he needed to amass a lot of cash very quickly for an important legal fund. He was desperate enough to put up a "Fund Me!" solicitation online to help pay for his lawyers.
He said that once he felt he was done working with the other studios (earned the cash) and was just about ready to get out of the business, that he wanted to come back and hopefully end his porn career with
Broke Straight Boys Because it was the place and with the people where it all started for him. I guess he appreciated how well the staff over here had treated him. I presume not only was this simply from
Broke Straight Boys/
College Dudes being the first to hire him and then helping to train him as a model, but also I suspect because of how kind they all were to him. He wanted to see them at least one more time before he dropped out of the business to pursue his legal case. And the staff of
Broke Straight Boys graciously made that a reality for Owen. Apparently he thinks very highly of the company and really likes the people.
My other question was, If he is really a straight gay-for-pay model, why does he come across as gay or bi in his videos here? Well... Assuming that he is straight as he says, the most likely answer is that the gayer acting performances were what he was asked to do at
College Dudes. Gay acting performances were certainly what was expected of him at most, if not all, of the other gay porn studios he made the rounds at before finally landing at
Broke Straight Boys If he had started here first he probably would have exhibited the more amateur straight vibe that we more often hope to see on
Broke Straight Boys I think that's part what led to the initial mixed reactions to him here as "new" model. Still, his performances here have been decent so far.
I was also impressed that asked the
Broke Straight Boys audience for some indulgence and that they not hold it against him that he's worked at other studios. He seemed to already know that on
Broke Straight Boys especially, that can be a really tough sell. He also asked us not to hold it against him that he honestly feels that none of the gay sex really feels good to him. But if a woman was doing all the same things to him, he would probably like it. haha He says he could just lie and tell viewers that he got some enjoyment out of the gay sex. But he doesn't feel comfortable lying about it just to try to please possibly a small segment of the viewers.
After Owen's interview I'm much more inclined to give him a pass on many of these issues. We typically hate it when we find out that a
Broke Straight Boys model has done work elsewhere. Given Owen's reasoning and why he felt he had no choice but to make lots of money very quickly, I'm much more understanding of his particular situation. It also doesn't bother me for him to say that he gets no real enjoyment out of the gay sex. He looks good onscreen doing it, without showing pain or total disgust. So it's all good to me.
