Happy New Year to you and to all who celebrate this major holiday. At the supermarket last Tuesday assembling an assortment of gifts for a dear Jewish friend of mine just having had successful heart valve surgery three weeks ago, the cashier asked me a cooking question about some of the traditional Jewish items I was purchasing. I had to reply that I had no idea, but I had no doubt that my dear Jewish lady friend would know. So not just Jews purchase Rosh Hashanah products, but their Christian friends buy then as presents to their Jewish friends as well. But thank God for Rosh Hashanah supermarket end displays to give me a clue as to what to buy along with some fine wine of course! I'm just an ignorant but well intentioned Catholic. Happy New Year to you and to all of my other Jewish friends!
