I finally got around to watching this scene and I must say that I enjoyed it. It was better than I expected. I don't always watch every scene with Grey. But if this one is any indication, maybe I should start. haha One reason I'm liking James so much Rep is precisely for many of the reasons you've outlined. I find his straightness and newness to both having gay sex and then being filmed on camera doing it, to be a big turn-on in and of itself. I find his deer in the headlights aura to be both humorous and refreshing.
Watching James it's almost like you can see the cogs turning as he moves around. He knows the basic mechanics of what he should be doing with his partner to get the job done. But there is also shall I say (in a most non-pejorative way) a bit of newbie oafishness to how he moves around. His body seems a little stiff and wooden. I find that trait about him to be very endearing. I'm glad he is finding out that he can be considered desirable and sexy to people of both genders. With a haircut and facial grooming that doesn't keep people away and lets people see his eyes, along with a willingness to put himself out there...I hope it will help his self-esteem in the long run. (Regardless of whether he is faithfully married and does nothing else with guys beyond the work he does on camera with his wife's knowledge and consent.) It always does a guy's ego and self-esteem good to make him aware that he's considered attractive and sexy to others.
