I love the initial interview of the performers, but is it really necessary to have a chat before and after the scene. NO. I think it is cheapening the site. Keep the introductory interviews but ditch the rest. I know that you want to replace scenes with these chats because you don't have to pay anything for them since the guys are there and you get 3 updates for the price of 1, but it seems a bit much.

To me it is harmless for them to provide a "before the scene" or "after the scene interview" as they are considered "free" bonus scenes and not an actual sex scene that we are paying for. For example we had the Axel/Xavier scene released on September 25, and next was Marcus/Jos Alvarez on September 29th. The next actual scene will be Ethan/Ben on October 3rd. So the new schedule is falling into one new scene every four days, which is the content that we are paying for.

However by giving us a before and after interview with Ethan and Ben, as are coming up, are free extras to give us something we can watch and comment about if we choose. Whether they are useful or entertaining to anyone is not the point to me as they are free, kind of like the plastic toy in the cracker jack box. lol

I enjoy the before, and the new after scenes. When the scenes didn't have any introduction or inane chatter between just the performers, it felt like there was something missing. It's all part of the team trying to build a loyal fan base - Asking who we would like to see on the forum, trying to get people to participate in the forum, and the addition of an after chat. I think it all adds to the quality of the site.
Now I need to go prepare for Lorenzo. The winds should start to pick up tomorrow; but hopefully the mountain to the south of me will dampen some of the effects.

Actually, unless they’re counting these “extras” as updates, we’re only getting 2 scenes a week now. The site is still promising 4 + weekly updates at sign up.

I don't mind the pre interview scenes but I am not sure about the post ones, reminds me of the old saying "was it good for you?" as if the models are going to say no it wasn't!!! Also I just know if someone says how wonderful the scene was for them one of the viewing public is gonna shoot em down, especially if they are one of the less popular models. Time will no doubt tell if these prove popular. I will watch the first couple but if I find them too cringing I may not bother in the future.

This does seem to be the new schedule which does work out to just under two scenes per week. I am not familiar with sign up promise of 4+ per week but they should definitely correct that. Could it be that it is a banner advertising that they bought before the change?

As I said when Mark announced the change in the schedule, I do support him and this site and I do understand the economic pressures they are going through and less updates per week is a better alternative than raising rates. But you are correct Jay, that they definitely need to be upfront and honest with new members who join and my belief is that it is an oversight or an ad campaign that needs to be corrected as soon as possible which I feel confident Mark will take care of.

To be fair, maybe this change isn't necessarily permanent. Maybe it's to stretch out scenes until things pick up, which I totally understand. Hey, I joined the J4F on the first day, because I wanted to help out the best I could. I know everyone isn't able to do that, and I was already paying a lower rate here on the main site.
But there is one point of unsolicited advice that I'd like to give. I suggest having more shoot weeks like the one you just had. There was so much variety. Some people are getting bored with the 18-22 yo twinky white boys. I know Broke Straight Boys is trying to appeal to its members that have been here for years, but they're not necessarily bringing in new members. I'm not saying they shouldn't continue to hire and bring in that type of model, but there should be a variety of guys. I don't want to throw blueplaid under the bus, but is he still here? He has said many times that he joined because of Ryan Pitt, and he always asks about Grey Donovan and Kace and others. He was passionate about his likes and persistent, and quite honest, not far off from what most people in the gay community go for these days. When Broke Straight Boys tweeted stills from Axel Green's solo, someone commented, "a person of color...." followed by a GIF of applause. People take notice of things. It's easy for us to sit and be content with the same ole same ole, because that's what the site was founded on and why so many of us joined in the beginning. But, I promise you.....there is change in the air, and if you really want to bring new people in, you're going to have to start taking more chances.
So, I don't know who's at the Broke Straight Boys house this week, but I hope it's a variety like last time.

I'll be interested in finding when the next "pre-scene" is after the Ben/Ethan "after-scene". I'm anticipating it will be two days. If they stick with that then they will definitely be making their advertised "4+ updates a week". Of course, that would mean that we would get one actual sex scene a week, occasionally two a week. Oh yeah, those BTS wouldn't exactly be "free" anymore.

I hope I'm wrong

I agree with the bigger variety of models. Cody Smith and Ryan Pitt aren’t the regular old type but I sure do like them. I also joined the J4F the first time. I even bought the 6 months. I wanted to be supportive also. It doesn’t look like many others followed our lead. I guess it’s hard for Mark to stay enthusiastic when these new things don’t take off so well but after really amping things up and brining in a new hunk like Casey they sure have backed off. I would have thrown in one or two good new scenes instead of looking through the basement for old scenes. I don’t understand their Marketing. They reduced the scenes. Acted like they were making things more exciting to make up for it and then it gets dull as all get out. Sorry but I don’t think it’s working guys.

I have no inside information, but as a long time member, Broke Straight Boys has never counted BTS episodes as scenes, and so with the new schedule I would expect that following the Ethan & Ben scene on October 3rd, we will be getting another sex scene four days later, on October 7th, or hopefully in three days on October 6th as Mark has not given us an exact schedule, but we shall find out tomorrow on October 2nd when the "before the scenes" with Ethan & Ben is posted.

However they handle the scheduling, I personally think it is a wise decision NOT to raise anyone's basic rates for the site as that might cause massive cancellations. I certainly can handle less updates, with more BTS, (pre and post scene interviews on off days), at the same rate that I've been paying for years. But others may feel differently.

Greetings,

Our designers told us they had removed all the references to the specific number of scenes last week. I've looked through the tour and can't find any references to 4+ anymore. If anyone comes across one of those, we'd appreciate a link so we can take care of that. We certainly want to be truthful on all our claims. That's really important to us and always has been. You guys were also correct in that we've considered behind-the-scenes to always be bonus material. We've never thought of it as an official update. We have considered new scenes to bonus sites as an update though. So with Broke Straight Boys you get College Boy Physicals as a bonus and we update that every week. We are creating that content and shoot 52 scenes a year for that site so those are truly updates of brand new and exclusive material thus the reason we've always considered those College Boy Physicals as updates in our marketing. Hope that helps explain our logic and sounds reasonable. Again, if you see the 4+ lingering somewhere... please let us know so we can get that removed. Hopefully things do pick up and we can get back to that though.

The 4 + updates is on the sign up page. If you go to the login page and click the green tab that says, “Not a Member? Instant Access”, it will direct you to the pricing and sign up page. If you scroll down past the pricing there is a list of things that are included with your membership.

Thanks, Jay, I could not have said it better. I will add this, I have seen more models of color on the site than when I first became a member. There was this one time when there were four models of color in the house and some members was crying for some better looking models. But that was then and this is now.

I guess that's part of my gripe though it wasn't something I felt was necessary to bring up in the forum...until now. A couple of months ago, for whatever reason, my charge for Broke Straight Boys didn't go through. That meant my subscription was cancelled. But cheer up, I just signed up again...at a higher rate. Mark said he would look into changing it back but wasn't able to because 'something, something, new system, something'. Okay, fine I'll continue at the higher rate. Then the new schedule dropped and the scenes would be coming out every three days. Fine, I can live with that. Then we get the "Triple Axel" with our solos and I thought that was great. But now, are we getting the "Triple Axel" with every scene? Are we getting a scene every three days and a BTS (which used to be incorporated in the scenes anyway) every day in between?

I'd just like to know what we're going to be getting. If, due to increased costs such as the new house and higher costs for models, then say so. I can live with something like "We will be having two updated scenes but more Behind The Scenes each week". It's the constant changing and obfuscation that makes me distrustful of what is going on. Just be upfront about it, I can deal with that. I might not like it but I can deal with it.

I do remember your telling us that you were charged a higher rate and then that Mark told you he would bring it back down to your old rate. I did not know that he then told you that he could not bring it back down. I can understand your frustration.

But to your point about the "Triple Axels", (I do love that term. Thanks Rep lol), but to that point Bryce aka admin said on Post #11 of this thread:

"You guys were also correct in that we've considered behind-the-scenes to always be bonus material. We've never thought of it as an official update."

And so from what he said, all of the before and after the scenes will not affect our regular updates which now appear to be once every four days. I also wish they would give us a definite schedule and a time for the updates as they used to be at 10- PM Eastern Time, every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. I do prefer to know when I can expect a new update similar to a TV program being on every week at the same time.

It has been a lot of confusion these last few weeks with these changes.

Axel Green is a great addition to Broke Straight Boys He seems so friendly and kind. The site needs more guys like him for sure.

I'm actually still confused...LOL

On a different subject, what is the policy of referring models? Would you guys rather me not mention it to anyone? Because I certainly don't want to keep spending tokens on Chaturbate to be able to speak privately with these people if in fact you guys aren't going to follow up on it. No one has responded back to me. I see Dorian Kross doing it all the time out in the open chatroom. I am not looking for any compensation or a free membership. I was sending these people to you, because I love this site and thought they'd be great. Seems like you would rather have someone that is hot and for once doesn't have Shane Frost as an agent.

Thanks for re-posting Bryce's comment in red. You know, the one from Post #11 in this thread. It helps clarify the point to someone who is as ignorant and thick-headed as I appear to be. My God you're arrogant! I guess you believe that if you continue to post the same thing time after time (while adding some visual aids) people will come around to your way of thinking.

I'm glad to know you don't go out of your way to be condescending. If you did you would be absolutely intolerable.

OMG. I thought we had gotten past this kind of stuff between us and I thought we were becoming forum friends, sharing our common interest and enjoyment of this site and that we were bonding over our concern over what was going on with Broke Straight Boys, but obviously I was wrong as you have a deep seeded hatred for me, as you continue to call my direct posting to you as being condescending and thinking that I am talking down to you.

You don't have to worry about that or deal with my comments about any of your posts in the future. I think this all goes back to a character who used to post on this forum and claimed to be a person named Tyler from somewhere in Texas. He also posted on another forum under another name where he claimed to be from Georgia, but he considered me his enemy and obviously you still harbor the same thoughts. For all I know "Tyler" is still posting on this forum under another name and location.

I can promise you I will never quote you or refer to any of your posts in the future. I never meant you any harm or intended to put you down or belittle you in any way but you obviously have no use for me, and so you will never have to deal with any direct comments from me to you anymore.

Wow. Good luck Wylie! Please let us know how you are doing.
