Jerry Stiller was a great comedian. While he did a number of TV shows, he is probably most remembered for his role as Frank Costanza on Seinfeld. He featured in a number of iconic episodes, the most famous of which, in my opinion, was Festivus. Here he is explaining the holiday to Kramer. Enjoy.

My friends tell me the Airing of Grievances is the part I'd do well in - lol !!!

Thank you Stowe. I loved Seinfeld and the Frank Costanza character as well. but I was first introduced to Jerry Stiller as part of the comedy team with his wife Ann, as Stiller & Meara. As in real life Jerry was Jewish and Annie was Irish and much of their comedy was about their differences when first meeting and dating.

Here is a classic clip from them on The Johnny Carson Show!

And they did a fine job of giving birth to Benjamin Edward Meara Stiller, better known as Ben Stiller. :thumbup1:

Yeah, Mikey, that's how I first was aware of him. They first appeared on Ed Sullivan's Sunday evening show. He was so enthused with them, that he uncharacteristically signed them to a contract and they made some 35 appearances on his show before they went their separate ways in the business. The characters of Hershey Horowitz and Mary Elizabeth Doyle were so funny yet in some of their skits very poignant. They are considered by many as the best male-female comedy duo of all time. BTW, mikey, they were both born in Brooklyn!!

I had heard that he was a method actor. I think John Waters said that he would put his arm around Divine on the set of “Hairspray” because he played Divine’s husband in the movie. He was awesome!

He was a great actor and a good person. This scene is hilarious. We celibate festivous on the occasions my husband gets drunk and shares his grievances and all my transgressions, because he never did anything it’s always someone’s fault especially mine!
