So I was just browsing Huffington Post as I usually do before bed or when Im a bit bored and have nothing better to do. I came acrossed an interesting article which lightly touches on something I studied in college. As I studied to become a behavoiral analyst we learned that body language is roughly 80% of communication. The eyes being the centerfold. Much like your mother would do when your caught being a hooligan, "Look me in the eyes".

The eyes are one of the primary indicators of communication. They say so much more than your words and the best part is you dont notice it and as the direct result cant prevent it. In lie detection, a field interrogator will use the eyes first. Its all about where you look how your eyes move. So many different things to look for.

Now, a study has revealed that perhaps your eyes could reveal your sexuality. More specific the dilation of the pupils.
I thought this article was quite interesting and thought I would share it with you all! Let me know what you think about it!

this came up back in may. i read the study. i have the link here somewhere.
the eyes tell all. when a dog or person looks at a person, they look first to the left (at the right eye) first. right side is the side with the cues.
the eyes look in one direction when remembering an event and in the other direction when creating an event (perhaps a lie).
how this plays into the ability to see 'gay' i don't know. i know that the study suggest that some people can recognize gayness at a rate greater than random chance.
add to that something called implicit association. we have preference for people (and things) that are driven by things outside our conscious thought process. we choose white over black, right over left, blonds over brunettes, tall over short without recognizing how it happened.
look it up!
so i'm gaydar is subject to this same unconscious process. gaydar does seem to work better in detecting gay women than gay men.

I have known that for years. It is one reason I am so adept at seducing young straight men. The eyes definitely offer clues. I have often said that when looking at someone in the eyes, you can see into their soul. But the body also tells so much more than words. So many little things/clues that a body conveys. And, in all honesty, I can tell more about straight men, than I can gay men. I've never been good at picking up on clues that a gay man is interested in me. As such, I have missed many opportunities with gay guys.

Somehow I think I am going to end up regretting getting involved in this thread, but...............OK, here goes.
Years ago, when I worked the streets, the ability to assess the odds of a quick score was paramount. There was little time to waste with "unlikely potential", and I always assumed I could tell because I had developed the ability to do so. But in later years, I also discovered that even when I wasn't "on the prowl" as it were, I could still easily discern gay from straight, no matter the gender. I came to realize that I had actually developed that ability much earlier in life, in my childhood in fact, as a survival tool. I was looking "for my own kind". It isn't just in the eyes, or the way someone's face looks. It is for me, the myriad of nuance that I can see in a quick glance, and use to mentally size up the person. How or why do I believe this is true? Simply because I get no such internal clues from a picture, only from the flesh and blood breathing human. Therefore, I must be measuring/evaluating a potential candidate from the moment I first spot them, usually long before a face to face occurs. Now this is just me, but there you have it.

OK. you may now load your guns.........!:001_rolleyes:

Guess when you were young you had to develope a fail safe way otherwise if you got it wrong you may have ended up in the gutter or in jail. In my mind the only fail safe way is to wait until someone taps you up. LOL

I think it was more a case of facing the class bullies, or of being ostracized, I was only 10 or 11 at the time. later on as a teen, perhaps the thought of gutters and jails entered in, but by then, the skills were already finely honed.
