School is going good for me thus far, the farm has been pretty quiet the past couple weeks but at least its getting cool enough to ride more often!!!! let me know whats going on in your sordid life.

Are you in your Freshmen year John? I'm sorry if you've told us earlier. haha I'm sure you're turning a few heads at school. :)

Glad school is going well for you...how do you get the farm to be quiet? I'm picturing the chickens aren't clucking, the cows don't moo, and the pigs with no oink. lol

I think I would love farming. My home is built on part of my great-great-great grandparent's farm. They farmed this land since 1806. My cousin raises show horses on the north side of the former farm. My late father (and now I) always put out a small garden every year.

What is it that you "ride more often?" And the cool weather has reached us also...45 degrees last night...was in the 90's two days ago.

Well Robb, on his Twitter page John Henry says that he is something called an eeh...ques...tree...an. Then he asks us if we know what that means. I'm not rightly suure. But nearest I can tell, I think it means...he's hung like a horse.

LOL And he does have a pretty BIG one. (uncut too)

I don't want to bring anyone down, but you did ask how we were doing today. Living on a farm you can relate to this. My dog, Harley, and special companion of nine years died this morning. He had been blind for about a year due to cataracts and started deteriorating physically three days ago. He was laying at my feet, licked me once on my foot, put his head down and took his last breath. I had a rough morning, but I am doing really good tonight knowing I don't have to see him suffer any more.

I live in the country and my young neighbor helped me find a nice site next to my trailer to lay Harley down to rest. Jr. prepared the site for me and then sealed it up after.

Whether you live in the country, the city, in school know that there are always good people around. I am glad you have made good contacts with people here on this forum. This is a good place to hang out at and just chat.

Work hard in school, John Henry. Stay with us here and make us proud when you graduate.

Peace,
Louis

John Henry ~

You're a sweetheart. I don't know the subjects you are taking in university, but I used to teach political philosophy, at university. And I have tutored lots of guys in English, history, and the social sciences. (I am a certified mathematical dunce, however.) BUT - if you ever want to talk about a paper you have going - just let me know. TAMPA is a great resource, also: he is brilliant, thoughtful, and fully abreast of current affairs.

J.H. I also grew up on the farm - though I don't know a lot about horses. (By my time, they were passé - except for hobbyists, and people who bred and SHOWED horses.) My Dad always says, though - when he is asked about "pets" (and he has never owned a dog, or a cat) that his best friend, growing up, was his horse. (My sister has a lovely old photo of my Dad when he was 10, circa 1942, riding his beloved horse.)

I didn't have horses. I had PIGS. 800 of them - and I fed them, and watered them, and cleaned up after them, every day. (It was the best training I ever got, for working - as I do know - with politicians ;-) I also drove a very large tractor, a "Steiger Cougar" - and a lot of my friends have trouble believing that I actually did this - but, J.H., I actually DID. I loved that tractor. It was as big as an aircraft-carrier, and very powerful - and it never got me stuck in a mudhole. . . even in the wettest spring seeding.

Lots of love to you, J.H., and all the best in school this year: you're a super guy.
