Beautiful Easter Day in southern New England. The sun came out @ 2 P.M., the temperature went into the low 60s, and a great gourmet family dinner ensued with two bottles of Chateau Neuf du Pape consumed. Happy Easter to all Christian Broke Straight Boys members and happy last day of Passover to our Jewish Broke Straight Boys members!

I hope everyone had a nice Easter yesterday. I went to my daughter Beth's where she and her husband and my four grandchildren (ages 21 to 13) and my ex shared a wonderfully delicious dinner. We had a lovely day. But the most joyous aspect was that after more than a year, thanks to being fully vaccinated, my daughter and I hugged. To have that human connection with another person again was magical.

I had every intention on getting together with 3 of my nieces and their kids. Unfortunately my sleep pattern is opposite (I work graveyard) of everyone, so when it was about time for me to leave and drive an hour I just didn't have the energy. I really miss my family and working in grocery has kept me away from them. Now that I'm fully vaccinated I can visit them more often, i just have to find the right time that works. Quiet Easter for me and I hope everyone enjoyed theirs...

I hope all of you enjoyed your Easter [those of you who participate]. I participated in my annual Easter ritual of hitting up Walgreens, CVS, and other stores and buying up Peeps and other goodies at discounted prices. I have discovered that when it comes to Peeps there are two types of people out there - those who love them and those who despise them. I learned a horrible habit from my mother many years ago who would allow Peeps and other marshmallow candy to get stale and somewhat chewy. So this is my favorite time of year although my doctor will be giving me crap later about how my A1C is high.
