Happy 4th

I just click on "New Posts" and get the newest of both sides.:001_rolleyes:

Jon have you ever thought of being a teacher?

We normally have a pub quiz on a thursday at the local boozer. This week the guy who compiles and asks the questions is ill. So I'm doing it ?

If I catch anyone using their mobile phone - they're banned. :ban:

a day late, but oh well...

I was contemplating whether to put this under Jon's thread, but it isn't my 'favourite', so I am keeping with the "4th" theme here:

I DO like this version of the song:

With all due respect it's rather yuk, if you get my drift, so I'm glad that you didn't put it under the favs thread.

BTW none of you folks have said what you did on July 4th. Please englighten me ?

Well, I'll tell you what I did since you asked so nicely.

We make a float for the neighborhood parade every year. This year's theme was We <3 Colorado Firefighters. So, we made a big, red firetruck. About 8 families came over on the 3rd to do the building and painting. We ordered pizza and had lots of gin and tonic and beer for everyone. The float is one of the best yet. We have been participating for about 9 years.

July 4, parade at 9:30. Real Firetruck in the lead followed by our float, some classic cars and hundreds of kids on their decorated bikes. The whole neighborhood gathered at the pool after for a party. There were games for the kids and adults, a BBQ and a DJ. We sat around drinking bloody marys and other delicious cocktails, enjoying the sun and catching up with neighbors. I participated in one of the relays swimming the butterfly leg for our team. When the pool closed at 5, we went home, cleaned up, I picked a salad from my garden and we went to our good friend's house for another BBQ, some wine and a casual evening. It was a great day!

Wow that sounds like a fab day hun xx. Have you got any pics of the float ? And wow all that food and beer that you consumed in one day - you want need to eat for a week. x

Nothing so exciting here. We had bar-be-q chicken and watermelon, then before dark we drove down where we would be able to see the local fireworks display.
