What's up Broke Straight Boys I have not been on the forum lately. I really like the new layout though but it was tough figuring out how to start a new thread :/ lol anyways... Just popping through to see how everyone is doing. I would like to get to know everyone a little better. Just to start some conversation if you would like just add to this by telling what your lifetime goal(s) are, if you have accomplished them and if you have not then what moves are you making to make your dreams come true. Here, I'll start it off.

My name is Xavier Green from Atlanta, Georgia.
-I would ultimately like to become a well-known writer/producer writing books, poems, songs and maybe even writing in entertainment such as television.
-My brother and I are working to produce a positive animation series about an African-American teen tech wiz/genius.
-I would like to start a non-profit organization to help young writers such as myself recognize and develop their talents as writers. Help them build confidence to believe that that they can write anything and the sky is the limit. I never had anyone to push me when I was younger so this organization will be for writers who dream to be great and refuse to let obstacles block them from achieving their goals.

Now let's hear from you! :001_tongue:

Welcome back Zayboy. It's a bit early for me to get talkative. Maybe later. lol But I look forward to hearing more from you. :)

Welcome back!

I was only around for a short while before the new format took effect, but its been a lot of fun getting to know everyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! (And, don't feel bad - I still have trouble remembering how to start a new thread! I have to search high and low, every time I want to start one. LOL)

Sounds like you have some exciting plans and goals! Best of luck in all! I, myself, still have no idea what I want to do when I grow up, but if I figure it out any time soon, I'll be sure to re-post! :001_tongue:

Hi Xavier, I'm intrigued by your interest in writing. A few years ago I was lucky enough to have a publishing house pick up a manuscript I wrote, and the publishing experience was truly amazing in so many ways. I hope one day you feel the buzz of holding a book you wrote in your hands. Although, be prepared to be involved in a sometimes nasty, extremely cut throat industry.

Your non profit idea sounds wonderful and you seem very determined, sometimes that's the key to keeping the dream alive long enough to turn it into the real deal. Poetry is a wonderful way to flex your writing wings, but unfortunately there's not a lot of commercial interest in poetry these days, but it's only a very small jump from poetry writing to song writing and potentially there's lots of money to be made in that area.

see ya round the forum!

Wow zayboy! Now that I know you are a writer, and that Grace is also, I'm going to feel intimidated to write my stories! Not that either of you, or anyone else for that matter, would say something horrible. I mean come on, what can one say, "oh yes that was very hot!" Or, "very nice, thank you." No one is going to say, "that was a joke, what a waste of time!"

Actually I am finding more and more well read and articulate people here on the forum. I find myself wanting to limit myself to one-liners. LOL

Don't put yourself down JLipps. To me a good author tells his story in a clear concise fashion and gets the facts across to the reader, in an easy to read manner. And all of your stories are entertaining, well written, (and usually give me a boner  ).

What more could any reader ask for. :001_tongue:

No one should feel afraid to post on the forum, irrespect on how poor their spelling and gramar is. I know mine isn't perfect but I know there are a lot worse and a lot better. So lets all kuntinu 2 p0st + bee h@99y.

Hi Xavier, welcome to the forum. You are in the SE of the US I see and I'm in the NW, we should have plenty to talk about. I have never been to Atlanta before and don't know much about the city except you hosted the Olympics, Ted Turner owns everything there and you make Coca Cola. We'll chat soon. Peter

I can see the one liners now.......

Went to Home Depot. Got followed home by three 20 year olds.

Welcome Xavier! Those are some pretty amazing goals. I wish you success with all of them, especially the last. I work with young people every day, and they need all the guidance and encouragement that we can give them.

Have you posted on the "10 Random Facts" thread? I know that I would like to get to know you even better.

Nooooo...please don't feel that way I love your stories! Your writing skills are superb and even if they weren't it wouldn't matter. Trust me if your stories were ever published you'd make far more money and entertain far more people than my efforts ever did!

Welcome writer : -)
