Please post site names you wish others to avoid and even not join and why.
My list is:
Amateurstraightguys.com because they hardly ever update. The site was partly bought by Dink Flamingo who owns Activeduty.com. Since the deal amateurstraightguys.com has fell off a cliff. Of course Dink still updates activeduty.com regularly. But since he's tossed aside ASG don't give him any money for activeduty.com. Even a owner on
F Amateurstraightguys.com said online that Dink stole the remainder of ASG from him as well.
Need I say more?

I no longer an a member of either ASG or Active Duty. I know that when the original owners of ASG split up, the site experienced contract issues with their server and payroll issues. at one point, following a website restructuring, a contractor use site funds for his own purposes. the site stopped being available. In the end, Doug had to find new investors. the Active duty owner brought a part of ASG and paid to restore the archive of videos. not sure what was stolen. I know that there is more to the story. you should spend your money as you see fit.

more of the story.
the owners of ASG made personal and business decisions that were not in the best interest of the site. after doug and jay split, doug went off the rails.
doug was the producer, the director, the cameraman, and at times, a co-star. jay was the cameraman and at times, a co-star. replacing a director was not an easy task. you might give a model who has been around for awhile the chance to work the camera. the other owner/producer could do it, but that was part of the reason for the split in the first place. the lost interest in the whole thing. people had become accustom to three episodes every week, three live-hour long webcam shows every week, regular exchanges on the bulletin board, and direct contact. it became hit and miss for months.
when doug returned to work, it was clear watching and talking to him that he was not ready. cash flow slowed and bills piled up. active duty brought cash.
the plan was doug would step aside. well not so much a plan, but what was expected. while doug was working on personal issues, Kaden Alexander was given the opportunity to be the first guest director. right away is became clear that Kaden Alexander was the right person for the job. there was no need to have more guest directors. however, doug was not ready or willing to step aside.
the guy who became the producer of the new ASG is no doug or Kaden Alexander.
I understand that when dink retired that Kaden Alexander became the producer/director at active duty. some models become great directors. they have a natural talent that mimics trained technique.

the reason that this is the only site that I belong to is that I joined Broke Straight Boys and asg at the same time and only Broke Straight Boys exist in a form that I can still recognize. I am not interesting in looking for a new site. call me lazy! call me loyal!

I read a news item in Towelroad (gay news, free , daily, good) that said eight active duty personnel from the 81st Airborne division in Fort Bragg, NC were busted on ActiveDuty.com and it shut down. Maybe it's back up. Like our forum buddy another1, call me too lazy to look for sites.

Active Duty did not shut down and that problem happened about 10 years ago. AD is still a going concern and Dink is still involved albeit not by himself. Kaden Alexander and another gentleman are also directors at AD. Dink moved operations to Southern California and the site continues on.

not sure why this article is in the news. this happened back in February, 2006.

That is a very old article. Did you check the date of publication?

While I don't know if your reasons are compelling enough to discourage a person from exploring a site? I would think content, updates, price...myself. I would like to recommend a site I just discovered (for it's content). BoysHalfwayHouse.com.

Thought it was interesting as, it is from the former owner of College Dudes! There are models I recognize from both College Dudes (the new version) as well as a few faces (bodies, dicks etc...) from Broke Straight Boys-2 also. Unfortunately, unless you're into the "Daddy Muggs" type of sexual content, you may not be all that turned on by Clay, former director of scenes on Broke Straight Boys, having sex with young models! Uggg!

The site offers membership subscription or, token purchase. You have to purchase credits (tokens) to download, which I didn't care for but, I was curious about the content so, I checked it out.

Draw your own conclusions but, I think when companies or employees go their separate ways in this industry, they either become allies or competitors. It's fiercely competitive!

it was the 82nd Airborne! if a friend helps you get a job where you get paid to have sex, then your friend it a pimp and you are a prostitute. that violates uniform military code of justice. 7 guys were convicted and sentenced for their conduct.
the site went into lockdown mode. filming porn is not a crime and recruiting models/performer is no crime and appearing in porn is no crime. the site did what the law and its finances allow it to do. the site reopened. they moved from north carolina to California.
corrective action taken in a timely manner leads to continued success.

Thanks for that. It is not surprising that Clay went pvt..

I remember when that incident occurred in NC. It was the chatter at the bookstore I use to frequent. The same thing happened a few year prior to that with models who were working for Dirk Yates.
