Louisiana - the location of New Orleans Saints practice facilities...so let's whistle Dixie and just lament at the full-scale stupidity of too many US citizens and inhabitants of this country and obvious watchers of A&E - remember duck dynasty is supported by Armorall, the sportswear company, that endorses the skier L. Let's be clear: this has nothing to do with constitutional protections or freedom of speech. This organization has the right to take them off the air - its their company and if they don't like what the talent has to say, they can fire them - for no other reason than they don't like what they say. Speech can have consequences including getting fired from your job.

But he's back too soon. The way to show them our displeasure is to not watch it. I never watched even 1 program.

Agreed Joey. I've never watched a single program and now I have even more incentive not to give the show's advertisers another viewer.

I am amused at how outraged the Christian right became over the duck dynasty star being disciplined for an outright antigay statement. First, he needs to realize that he is worshipped by some as a valid star just like Zac Efron, John Wayne and I could go on. As such, he should realize that there are those fans who dote on his every word and take his words seriously. It would be tragic if someone of those took things into their own hands and decided to "Discipline" a gay. The results might take on tragic consequences such as the young gay boy murdered in Colorado or the young gay man strung on barbed wire and tortured until he bled to death in West Virginia! Robertson needs to take responsibility for his statements but I guess intelligence is one of the sadly lacking parts of his character! I wonder what the christian right would say if he quoted Ezekial 5:10 which states"
fathers shall eat their sons and the sons eat their fathers in your midst!" Would the outrage be the same! I think the whole Duck Dynasty show is stupid and the remarks made just show a complete lack of good telegvision

Does anyone think that this incident was a really big deal for gays? Is there a danger of even more distasteful looks, refused service, increase in hate crimes. Because Duck Sr. "won" and now it is open season on gays, with God's permission. I know "won" isn't the right word because it wasn't a contest. I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.

Thank you Tampa for the link. Ive come to the conclusion why gay activity is so bad in the eyes of religion. No more "members of the church" can be created by it but in heterosexual behavior more kids get created to add to the church's membership and $$$. Religion as it is now is nothing more than a business with it's priests,pastors and rabbis the CEOs whose major job is to make more money and profits.

I'm glad you found the link interesting. If what you say above is true, I see signs of hope on that front too. More and more gays are adopting children or having surrogate parents conceive them through "in vitro" and so on. So it's no longer a given that gay people who have never been married to someone of the opposite sex are going to be childless. There are several children and a few babies in my mostly gay church.

And don't worry Joey. Even though I attend church, I don't disagree with the fact that churches are a business like many others that are out to bring in money.

In response to this truly "ducked up story", Duck Sr. prides himself as a fundamentalist and what comes to mind first is how much he favors some dangerous fundamentalists a few time zones away in the Middle East. Furthermore, he is about as accurate with his interpretation of the Bible as many of the more dangerous zealots are over there with the Koran. One has to wonder where all the Venom comes from with his strict adherence to the teachings of Christ & The Bible! Surely no desperate and lonely GAY guy ever hit on him, without either having lost their glasses OR being on the verge of having a HEAT STROKE, at least. Actually, I imagine he is waiting for the NRA to honor him with a "Humanitarian Award" for all of his efforts to save us from ourselves!

Actually he has made me rethink about the old movie star Gabby Hays and what exactly he was all about with his suspicious looking beard and his shifty eyes, if only you could find them? Do you think Gabby bowed to the East 5 times per day too OR was he just looking for his contacts OR his new store-bought teeth??? If God is a merciful God, then surely Gabby Hayes can't possibly be GAY too, right along with Liberace or Rock Hudson or Richard Chamberlain!

I was just watching this week's Real Time with Bill Mahr on HBO, and he showed this same pic of the Duck Dynasty people, and I thought it was a joke. Thanks for the info Iggy, and by the way, to the forum.
