Could/Would/Should BSB Recruit Models?

I claim no inside knowledge of the business, so this may be a moot point, however I have been thinking about the current state of Broke Straight Boys and their stable of models. It is a given that the "good old days" are long gone and never coming back. Either Bryce or Sha posted a little while back that there just weren't straight guys applying to have gay sex any more. And this is obviously an industry-wide thing, as looking at original producer/pied piper David's own site and the scenes he shoots for other sites, the quality and quantity of his models has dropped way off, far worse, in MY opinion, than Broke Straight Boys's. Many other sites are suffering the same. I think there are a number of reasons for this, but I'm not going to go into them as many have been discussed elsewhere already, and that isn't the point of my post (and I know super-long posts can be annoying or are skipped by a lot of people).

So, could/would/SHOULD Broke Straight Boys go out and actively recruit models? There are a number of gay porn agents who represent some gorgeous guys who would fit right in here. Many Broke Straight Boys models and alumni are with agencies. And what about places like Chaturbate? There are hundreds of guys camming who obviously are comfortable enough to get naked and have sex in front of a camera. Many of them are "straight" and just jerk off, but there are also an awful lot who identify simply as "sexual" who have sex with women and men. And in the case of Chaturbate, the tokens there that the models earn are worth 5 cents a piece, and I've seen cam guys literally be on for six or seven hours just to earn 1000 tokens ($50)!!! You would think that some of these guys might be interested in earning better money faster by doing what they are basically already doing (well, I know its not the same -- there has been a lot of hub-bub over Junior, for instance, who some think is very flat here, but I've seen his cam shows and he's a little firecracker there... so maybe it doesn't always translate from cam show to porn video smoothly).

Just a thought, and as I say, I claim no inside knowledge of Blue Media's workings, so maybe this is something they already do or have discussed or tried and found not worth the time and effort. Just seems that they need to cast a wider net to get new talent. And all but the dimmest or most casual member KNOWS that most of the Broke Straight Boys guys are NOT "straight" these days, despite the force-fed, poorly acted "I'm really straight" business, so that shouldn't even be a consideration any more, so long as Broke Straight Boys stays away from the obviously gay and more fey-acting models.

First I want to mention that David is basically out of the porn business, as he posts from time to time on another forum that I participate on. He was involved with straight rent boys but gave up his participation there, and now only fulfills his obligation to Mark and BluMedia on College Boy Physicals and maybe Boy Gusher if that site still updates? David and Eddie are now both successful in fields totally out of porn.

But more on point I'd love for Bryce and Sha to tell us exactly how they currently recruit models. I know there is a place on this site for an amateur to apply and wonder if any current models got here that way. As you said Scott, Junior started on Chaturbate and by the way I think he is fine here. And I think it would be a mistake to ever totally abandon the idea of straight in Broke Straight Boys, as that is still the "hook" to attracting new members here as all advertising I see on other porn sites for Broke Straight Boys talks about getting straight guys to have gay sex for money and they are trying to attract members with a fetish for straight guys.

I know it is not easy for BluMedia to get real straight guys today, but I don't think they should abandon that pursuit as aside from the forum, that is why I am here and I am optimistic that we may still see a new cute young fresh faced straight boy with the release of each new upcoming update. The anticipation is still fun for me, and I don't want them to ever say that they've given up on the original mission statement of this site...........but "that's just me", (to copy a phrase that a very important person I know likes to use. lol).

But I'm tired of the circular argument, and everyone is allowed his own personal opinion, so I have nothing else to say on the subject for now. As I've said before, dinosaurs need to know when its time to either go extinct or to evolve. While I totally understand what you are saying here, I process things a little differently?
There was a time as other's have mentioned when, porn was not as readily available as it is on the internet today! When I first discovered just how much porn there was out there, the choices of different types of guys, the different types of sexual acts.....it was fascinating...it was also a little overwhelming! I found myself unsure of what was real and what wasn't? Who was straight and while even on a site with the name straight in it, it was obvious to me from my experiences that wasn't the case.

Porn is intended for the purpose of ENTERTAINMENT. Some may even suggest, it can also be considered Adult Education...LOL
But, (and here is one of my famous analogies) there are GUCCI bags and there are GUCCI like bags. Sometimes, the GUCCI like bags will put a little emblem on them so they are distinguishable from the real ones. They are not trying to sell you a fake. You buy into the fact that it looks like a GUCCI and you can certainly pass it off to others. In porn, there are many "Buy In" concepts. Keeping the straight in the name of a site may not fool everyone but, it does allow some to enjoy whatever it is they enjoy buying into the same concept.

While I'm sure that will not ease your wanting them to NOT openly distract you with the HARD SELL attempt of being STRAIGHT but, keeping in mind that it IS the entertainment value that does sell might help?

I agree with you Scott that they should try to hire the straightest looking and acting models as possible. I'm still old school and tend to roll my eyes in here when we get a new model who has waxed eyebrows, is body shaved within an inch of his life and fits a total fem bottom-boy mold. Well yes and no Judge. It's easy to complain. But I also know they can only try to hire the best of the applicants they get. If the well is running dry at times, they have to go with what's there. I'm not extremely displeased.

It's never going to be perfect in anyone's eyes Judge. But believe me, if you think we're in a rough patch now, it's been far worse than this in the past. I think they have a decent stable of models right now.

I did have the chance to read the article that judge was referring to and while I think Racism is still pervasive in the world and the porn industry is certainly not exempt, it's kind of like corruption in the government to me. Yeah, it's awful, yes it needs to be addressed but.....it's such a global issue that I cannot let it consume me on a daily basis. We read things that make us think...and we are made aware but, how much can we do as individuals?




Does the problem that exists in the porn industry affect my enjoyment? Well let's just say,...it hasn't yet. Will I continue to enjoy porn that is available from whatever source is available to me? Most likely yes. Do I have the choice to avoid sites that, as an informed consumer, knowingly violate people's human rights and dignities on any level? I most certainly do. And that's about as far as I can go with it!




Scott thinks that he has solutions or suggestions about how the site can or should go about getting "straight" or at least Straight acting models......the world is full of people with great ideas! There are always thinkers and doers. Now, I would probably venture a guess that the powers that be who own and operate a porn site know what challenges they face. I'm sure there are many avenues they have explored in search of the right mix, type, marketable people to fill their criteria of models to be featured on their site. I don't really think they've limited themselves to one or two options. Armchair Quarterbacking is a sport many Broke Straight Boys members seem to be very good at! I always think to myself,....if it's that easy....why aren't you doing it? Or, more importantly....if it's that important to you... or it impacts your viewing pleasure that much.....why are you still here?




The more I read, the more I wonder.....just what is missing in some of these people's lives? With all of the porn available and much more free stuff than one could consume in a week of non stop 2407 viewing (imagine that) they complain about the things I just don't understand? We all make choices in life. Some people have to make a choice between keeping a subscription to a "Porn site" or being able to afford life sustaining medication???? My biggest beef from almost the beginning was being told that what I was posting wasn't acceptable or was objectionable or not in the proper Broke Straight Boys spirit. A " Place To FREELY Express" is a great idea! And how all Forums should be. But that " Freedom" can't be selective. It's like the Constitution. The rules are meant to be the same for all of us. That's the intention. It can't only be free when " SOME" are in agreement. And members shouldn't be chastised for complaints or negative reactions/ opinions. If U , as an individual are pleased with everything no matter what...... That's valid. But so is it if you have a Negative response to Management decisions / Choices. It has to go both ways. Quite like the Opposing Political philosophies that we are currently navigating ....... I believe that success always comes by embracing change & looking forward not backwards. I think through education & enlightens our best days are always in front of us. Because the Future holds possibilities.......

I did NOT insinuate that I had THE solution. It was a suggestion/question, and I CLEARLY stated that I had no knowledge of the inner workings of Blue Media and it might be something they have already done, do or discussed. THIS is what I mean by I feel as though I am speaking a foreign language if you are going to take a snippet of my post out of context so that I look like an asshole. I am not an armchair quarterback, but a paying member and a member of this forum which used to be fun but is now a horrible, unfriendly place. And to answer your question about why am I still here? I appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and opinions here including Scott and Betu's. Everyone perceives porn and sex differently and there is no right or wrong, just our own perspectives. It sure troubles me as this which should be a "happy place" to get away from the pressures and strife of the real world where we can just kick back and have fun among ourselves.

I would hope that everyone can take a deep breath and realize that we are talking about porn, naked young dudes fucking and sucking, boners and cum shots, not war and peace, famine and killing. This is the candy store, not the gun store of life.
