The goal of studying these is because humans are complex creatures who are interchangeable in the sense that biologically any two humans of different sexes can mate and breed provided they are biologically able - so racism and ethnocentrism are false barriers that are the fabric of human-made lies.
Social studies is meant to inculcate useful habits of mind of citizenship in that on the family and/or local/neighborhood and/or city and/or regional and/or national and/or continental and/or hemispheric and/or global scales all humans have a kinship and mutual responsibility to not destroy their surroundings or one another.
This is an ideal because daily we are inundated with images/stories of war/conflict and rape murder pillaging plundering and savagery dressed up to look civilized (as in USA or Brazil when poor are forcibly moved by rich from resources due to greed). We get images of young womyn having their bodies forcibly altered - vaginas altered through forced surgery without antibiotics or painkillers to keep them pure. We get images of female students - al girls - being kidnapped from schools for fear that their learning will make them more like men. We get images of lying politicians all over the world enriching themselves while telling the taxpayers that they need o be austere and sacrifice - as in US Congress giving itself raises that must be voted against to not happen and full healthcare that covers all possible illnesses, injuries, sicknesses physical and mental.
