BRRRR! It's 2 deg outside my window in Brooklyn,NY. What crazy weather lately!
There is talk about this Polar Vortex returning in Feb with warm storms coming from the South causing horrific snow storms. What's Happening????????

I chatted with Mikeyank this morning and yes he said it was very cold outside. Even my local news this morning showed NYC being 54 deg yesterday then 5 deg this morning. It rains a lot here in Seattle, but we pretty much know what to expect on any giving day. 50 deg difference in 24 hours in just not right!!! lol:wtf:
 
well peter, we could use some of your rain. sunny and warm has its downside.
I cannot imagine going from 70 deg down to 20 deg.

As a fellow Brooklynite Joey, I feel your pain, as does my face after being outside earlier this morning. Brrrrrrrrr indeed. :wtf:
 
As I am sure Stowe would agree, here in Pittsburgh, we have -3 to 4 below with wind chills making it -25 to -30. All three rivers iced over, something that has not occurred since big two week freeze 20 some years ago. Every house had brass monkeys knocking on doors! Although everyone assumes global warming, one of the aspects of it is that weather will exhibit greater extremes in change of weather systems. So I think we can experience a lot more of these violent weather systems!
 
The best part of being retired is to look out the window and see people going to work on days like today. Thinking I did this so many times but no need anymore.

Agreed Joeychuck - it is so nice to wake up, kook out and see cold and snow and roll over and go back to sleep in a warm bed! As the old period poem goes
Early in the morning, I hear his wheels arolling
And I hear his horse's hooves
I hear his bottles clinking and then he goes away!
I yawn, roll over and begin another day!
 
It went into the 30's last night in my area of Florida. Some counties north of me went into the 20's. We didn't break 50 degrees all day today. Brr... haha

Bikinis, thongs and speedos were not to be seen on the beaches today. Except maybe by Canadians, haha

I hear you loud and clear!!!! I'm stuck in a blizzard in upstate New York. The wind is blowing at 45 mph, the snow is flying and the temperature this morning was minus 8. Currently it is 5 degrees and the wind is howling outside my dorm window. The heaters have run nonstop all day and still my room is only 63 degrees. They say it should let up tomorrow, I hope so, the wind started Sunday and it has been downhill since.
The only good thing classes were cancelled, but so was everything else.
Please don't take my comments as complaints. I am lucky to be inside with food and the necessities for life, many others are not.
 
Damn there's quite a few members hailing from NY. Are you guys the pervy state? lol

I too have noticed the amount of New York State representation here peter! Interestingly enough, I went on FB quite a while back and found a Broke Straight Boys website that seemed to be based in Buffalo NY. Don't know if it's still up and or updated. New comer Tate, is from NY. Johnny Forza was from New Jersey, Damien Kyle from Mass., area So, it would stand to reason that, we need to "represent" Broke Straight Boys in New York as well as the East Coast! Besides, when it gets as cold as it does upstate NY, what the hell else is there to do?:sign0020:

It is 45 degrees here in Buffalo today. Now we are under a flood watch due to all of the melting snow from the blizzard last week. The weather changes like the flick of a light switch here. Thanks to lakes Erie and Niagara. Just let the cold wind from Canada blow across the warm lakes and you have a lake effect weather event.

I so do not envy you! I've been to Buffalo in the winter time, Chicago too, very similar type of cold lake effect weather!
 
All I See Is Snow Over Here In Colorado! Wheres The Sun? Its Not Even The Fun Type Of Snow Ive Been Trying For 3 Days To Build A Snow Family :)
