My dad gave me a slide rule which I never and could not use - do you know what one of them is or was ? It had this bit in the middle that extended out way beyond 12 inches.

It was a calculator way back when. After you mastered the 12 " one you went to the 6" one which was easy to carry but harder to use. A comany called picket and eckel was the usual maker of them. I had a metal one but alot of guys had them made of wood.

I just used it to underline statements, which was a complete waste of it's potential. I havn't a clue where it is now and I wonder if it is worth anything.
