Oh my gosh. That was horrible! How did two such attractive guys end up making a scene that was so totally boring and lacking in any spark, sensuality or personal connection? Forget "chemistry." There wasn't even any real eye contact. If a very clinical, pre-med type class wanted to show heterosexual students what the sterile, bare mechanics of homosexual mating rituals looked like...they could show this video without fear that straight students might either be offended or become aroused.
Ashton and Justin seemed to have no connection whatsoever. It was all mechanical and just going through the motions. The fact that it was a cold open with no talking or banter beforehand just made it worse. I had such high hopes for Ashton. And while I haven't given up on him yet, this is not a scene that will help get him to stardom.
As I think this through, I have to place some fault on the director here. There should have been little doubt on the set within the filming of about the first two segments and positions, that this scene was bombing terribly. When all the professionals on the set could or at least should have be able to see that a scene with great looking models was failing miserably...didn't they have a duty of sorts to stop filming briefly, take a timeout, counsel the models, give them a pep talk and then resume filming with a new game plan? If that was done and it still didn't work, then...Wow. I'm guessing though that it wasn't.
