Apologies

Case closed.

My post about the "blue" script: I didn't mean to offend anyone, or start a firestorm of controversy. All I meant was, it's hard to read.

Dear Christopher Robin,

I understand fully that when using a white background certain colors are difficult to read. I just have arrived at a decision that I can no longer follow my preferences to use colored fonts because of the wide variety of devices used by members to access Broke Straight Boys I am going to only color my user name and the rest will be conforming to the "normal" white or black depending on one's background skin. I understand your point so your apology isn't required. You had a legitimate concern. I wasn't offended, mostly I was confused if your use of the word "blue" really meant the Cyan color I am used to using for my posts.

I consider the issue resolved,

Stimpy

I think you did it because I said I hadn't read your post LOL

Who's affraid of Black and White?

In fact it's worth a compliment to pick such a simple topic as black and white, and see the forum as divided as black and white. : -)

Isn't the world a great place, when we can afford to spend time to discuss 'a matter of preference' so vigorously?

My opinion is that Stimpy should post in whatever damn color he pleases, and if folks don't want to read it, that's their business.

I love when Stimpy let's his "freak flag fly" with multi colored, multi font posts in more colors than the original NBC Peacock.

Just one man's opinion here, but I love to see the result of all of Stimpy's work on his posts. He is an artist with his palette of colors. This would be like asking Rembrandt to do black and white sketches. This forum has been Stimpy's canvas for many years and I hate to see him feel compelled to give up his canvas.

All is well that ends well!!!

Dear jon,

You participation on the site is very important to me, that is true and from time to time, my thought patterns may be just that transparent. But I am not so foolish as to want to give you a undeserved "guilt trip" at the same time. You put your comment in such a way that I did not want you to have a reason to avoid reading my posts. That is as far as that goes. Before when you told me you disliked the "avocado green" I occasionally used, I took it at face value and went on with my forum life. I did not need to know the specific reason for your statement.

Actually, it was only after reading objections stated in the "Blue" thread by two other forumites that I started putting it all together. I began to realize they were probably using a white background. Then, I remembered the recent difficulty I had with visibility on Broke Straight Boys, before we had the option between using the white or black screens. It made more sense to me then. Laura then chimed in, because of her iPhone, she too had trouble reading those lighter colors and I was convinced there should be a way around that somehow.

So jon, please don't think for one minute I expect or require an apology from you. Thank you for the kind offer, but I fully accept I will need some corrective feedback too. I feel if we are to continue to be relevant in this rapidly changing world, I will need corrective feedback as much as anybody else. Forumites are free to agree or disagree with my stated opinions. The point being that I want to have the ability to share my thoughts and opinions with this specific group of people I relate to so closely. We are like some virtual family of people who have the natural propensity to understand each of us better than most everybody else we routinely come in contact in our daily lives. That is what makes the forum so special to me.

Jon, let me assure you no offense was taken by me!

Sincerely,:001_wub:

Dear Robert,

I love the cat. If he were mine, I'd name him "Old Blue-eyes" after Frank Sinatra. Those are the bluest eyes I've seen. Their practically "Cyan"! I wonder if the cat has cyan-tinted contacts?

Thanks Robert for your support,

Stimpy

Thank you Mikeyank, your words are not waisted on me...

My dearest friend, Mikeyank,

You are too sweet for words! Thank you for all your support. Funny that you should mention the NBC Peacock, because ever since I was around age 11, I have loved a certain color of ink that was available back when fountain pens were the norm, beginning in my 5th grade year in parochial school. We went to school with our ink bottles or ink cartridges and I observed a girl in my class that used something very special, namely Sheaffer Ink in "Peacock Blue". The typical choices were mostly Black, Blue-Black, or Blue. I must confess I soon became addicted to this color "Cyan" and have been so ever since.

Let me assure you, Mikeyank, my "freak flag fly" will still see the light of day again, but maybe not so often as before. I guess I have never quite outgrown my "CRAYOLA DAYS" of my youth and especially now since their point on the computer never wears down like before. Mike you really flatter me but I was thinking more along the lines of Michelangelo, rather than as a mere Rembrandt. Anyway, I am not about to fold up shop, even if I have to paint the fenders on raggedy old Ford Pintos! I promise!

Sincerely,

Stimpy

Well, if there is something in my posts that people cannot read, because it is cyan, you all know that it just means that I either said CHAD:001_wub:, JIMMIE, or HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Cumrag's multi colored code

PS: It's only hard to read for those who choose so...

Makes me wonder what other beautiful things the 'The Peacock Blue Girl' left in the wake of her life for others to remember and perhaps learn from...
