I have been enjoying the recent scenes and reading the forum post regularly now. I find the broad taste of viewers on this site interesting. Often I wonder if some of the viewers have ever engaged in a sexual act with a (for the sake of argument) guy who prefers women but, will occasionally have sex with a guy. Well, I have. I've been with guys who prefer guys, I've been with women and guys who prefer women. For the most part, the later don't engage in a lot of romantic, passionate stuff that "gay men" do. When they are caught up in the moment of the sexual act, it's just that. And when it's over, they just want to get cleaned up and go." No basking in the after glow". I am a "top" and my ultimate goal with a guy is to penetrate that butt. Some have done so willingly and some required a lot of coaxing. From my perspective, the more I engaged the guy while in his butt, the better the experience was for both of us and it also would distract him from the pain or discomfort from having me inside him. Jason Mathews does this very well in my opinion when he tops. Sometimes it's a reach-around, or working a sensitive area (Kaden Alexander gently kissing Mick's neck in the three way scene with Adam.) When I read some of the posts wanting more romance or more passion, I have to wonder what people really expect from Straight guys having gay sex? When the kissing, passion or intensity comes across naturally, like ( Ayden and Skyler's first bottoming scene,) that intensity came across more believable to me. Skyler wanted it harder, Ayden was already into it by then. Then the scene with Johnny & Joey when Johnny came "prematurely", that to me was good, natural. There have been other scenes that I felt were natural, non scripted acts of passion and pleasure. It would be nice to read positive non-critical reviews from time to time. After all, it's still just good porn to me and taste is without a doubt, SUBJECTIVE. "These are just my thoughts and observations."

Hi Darren,
I was quite happy to see your observation concerning the "straight" man and the fact that they need gay sex. I am a person who generally hooks up with married men or men who are solely into women and not interested in a man on man relationship. There is that fantasy element in having sex with a guy who is primarily with a woman. Also, if you date a married man there is not going to be any sort of committed relationship. I have to praise your refreshing intellectual take on this subject.

Jay from suburban Manhattan.

Thank you for your "thoughts and observation" BET. I agree 100% and I know Mikey will concur also. Like I said on the Mick/Ayden thread, this was a good scene because it was just a suck and fuck scene with no passion. This is what having sex with a straight guy is suppose to be like, they are after all straight right? The passionate scenes are fine because they make for good porn and I'm glad we have them, but the site is called Broke Straight Boys so the scenes like Mick/Ayden fit right in to what this site was originated from.

I really appreciated both of your posts, as I recently expressed similar thoughts on the thread I called "BSB3".

It pleases me to see that my presumption is correct that not all members here crave "passion", "romance" and "tenderness" in the scenes here. The hook of this site to me is watching a guy who we can believe is straight in his basic orientation engaging in gay sex presumably for the first time, with the monetary compensation being the supposed reason that he is doing it. And a guy like that is not going to relate to his partner the same way he does when he is making love to a woman.

And to my taste, that is what makes or used to make Broke Straight Boys so different from College Dudes, and sites that I've heard named Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher to name two. I've never visited either site, and just run across some free clips, but they do not hold my interest, as unfortunately many of the recent scenes here do not either, as I've watched so many good looking guys have all out gay sex. Broke Straight Boys used to be and at least occasionally can still be something very different to cater to the hard core straight boy fans on the site.

And I enjoy your perspective particularly betudidntknow, as you say that your primary objective with straight men is to penetrate their virgin holes. I love straight men as much as you do, while my objective is to suck their cocks and drink their straight loads, but we are both turned on by watching guys who we can believe are truly straight as they stretch their normal sexual boundaries, and it fascinates me and turns me on whether the straight guy is a bottom like Blake or like Danny from BSB1, who I believe lived a very straight lifestyle, but it was so hot to watch him get so into being fucked, and I also get turned on by watching a MikeR or a Jimmy Johnson who are aggressive straight tops. Either way I really get off to those types of guys.

Guys, if you don't like the site then protest with your subscriptions or lack of them.
Of course Jon, at the end of the day, that is the way the "real" votes are cast on the site. If it were for arousing current sexual content alone, I would have left a long time ago, but the forum and the archives of scenes are what keep me here.............. for now.

Welcome to the forum Jay! :welcome:

I really enjoyed the responses to this thread guys! A lot of different perspectives based on different experiences. While I wasn't making a complaint about the site's content, I was trying to get some dialogue about what makes each of us drawn to different scenes from this site. This is about "Broke Straight Boys" having man to man sex. I think we all get that. At the end of the day, we are still GAY men, who really enjoy some element of watching two guys having sex with each other. Whether it's with or without passion, it still seams clear to me, there is enough content to satisfy a variety of taste. I really appreciated the comments and points of view. I know I'll be on this site for the content and the extra's (and the forum) for as long as my circumstances allow. And Welcome Jay! New York in the house! Oh yeah! You too Mikeyank!

Here's my 2 cents on why I like this site (if you check any of my forum contributions you will see the variations on my themes!).

I am on the passion side of the discussion. Long ago I pushed for more kissing. My attraction to the site is not so much straight vs gay, but experience vs inexperience - I love to see new guys, often intimidated by the prospect of gay sex but nurtured (if I can use that word) by a more experienced guy to the ins and outs (oh come on) of gay sex. I love to see the learning curve. That's what makes the Jasons and Pauls and others so hot and endearing. They help new guys begin to really get into it. I also like the violation of the dramatic third (or is it fourth) wall. Unlike other porn sites I have known, you begin to get to know the guys and feel an attraction (sic) to them. You feel you are right there as the scene is happening. The bonus sites are a plus as is the Forum itself.

After reading the comments on Mikey's BSB3 thread and now the comments on this thread I've been thinking about why I enjoy Broke Straight Boys as much a I do, even though the models don't always fit into the 'nervous straight boy having sex with another straight boy' category.

Well, after reading your comment, Silver, you've hit the nail precisely on the head, at least for me. I enjoy watching M2M sexual journeys unfold with models I can communicate with and get to know on a more personal level. But, this also means I prefer new models to come across as being believably straight , so it's obvious virgin territory is being explored and there is a reasonable expectation of a sexual journey beginning...

Of course, what we see unfold is probably more often than not the result of excellent acting rather than true passion, but it's usually enough to keep my fantasies flying high...

Sorry, a bit off the original topic...

Thank you Grace, for your as usual thoughtful and intelligent perspective. While I understand that you along with most of the women who now post and who used to post on the forum, are huge fans of romance, chemistry and a true connection between the partnered models, you also want to see some of the same things that I do.

It is so true that we need a constant influx of new believably straight young men to enter the site to keep it fresh and interesting. How many times can we watch the same troupe of experienced models get it on with each other?

And yes, the communication between the models and the director, (meaning us) gives us the sense of reality that is also so important to me on this site. That reality requires more than just being presented with handsome, fit young men having sex, without having any sense of who they are, and what is going through their heads during their journey.

And no Grace, I do not believe that your post is at all off topic. In fact I believe it is terribly pertinent to both this thread and the BSB3 thread.

Wow! You have stated all these cases so well. I have to agree with you on all the great things that make this site stand out from so many others. For me the believably straight ones are the most interesting and fascinating ones to watch as their sexual journeys into gay sex unfold. While I very much enjoy the nervous straight first-timer kind of model, I also like a little bit of chemistry in the scenes. Sometimes that might mean kissing. Other times it can be as subtle as a model gently and appreciatively running his fingers through the other's hair while receiving head, or stroking his back or shoulders and so on.

The main things I love about Broke Straight Boys beyond just beautiful models and the occasional boy-next-door kind of model is indeed watching the sexual journey and progression. Also of course is the fact that we gain insights into the models' personalities and learn a little about their personal lives. That is an unquantifiable ingredient to Broke Straight Boys's success. As long as they keep the communication between model and viewer going in the scenes, the site keeps that advantage they have over all the other sites out there that just show hot guys having sex. While I admit to liking porn like that once in a while...it can start to feel like just looking at 2 dimensional porn magazines rather than a video experience.

I've never in my life found a site like this one where I felt an emotional or intellectual connection to any of the models. When we hear of their hobbies, their girlfriends, their daily struggles or more profound life setbacks even...it really humanizes them for us. We keep them in our thoughts when we know they are going through some tough times. We can offer them some support by posting in the forum. We also thankfully rejoice with them when they bring really good news of things going on their lives. We feel invested in them on a much deeper level than just the sexual.

Other sites out there are often just porn for its own sake. Meaning that it's all pretty vacuous and shallow. (No offense to the models themselves as human beings) Broke Straight Boys, with all the communication it has between models, staff and members feels much more like respectable adult entertainment with heart rather than "just porn. *Yawn*".

Since things seen to be going in a direction of more passionate scenes, I will have to adjust. I hope that they will keep to more of the straight gay for pay type models as opposed to the more openly gay types. As long as they keep the interaction between models and viewers going through the scene interviews and at least some of the models posting on the forum itself...I know they'll be able to keep the success going. :)

I really can relate to what you are saying as well. That's why I think I often make references to different scenes where I've observed subtle but, to me a more realistic representation of either "good acting or a good performance" from a model. In one of the group interviews, Jason Mathews said something that really impressed me. " Gay sex is an acquired taste." That said a lot to me because I believe that to be true with "straight men." On this site the models do seem to perform better (and members have mentioned it) as they progress or do more scenes. I (being strictly a top) don't believe there is any such thing as a "Natural Bottom." Where it is presumed by many that, most gay guys (not all) like to bottom. While some gay men can be "versatile", who said gay men hold the patent on anal sex. So, a non-gay man can become quite good at anal sex if this is pleasurable for him too! Being passionate can also be "learned" or developed with experience. I really enjoy watching these guys progress and it's fun to pick up on the "newly acquired tools" they develop. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
