8/28/63 - Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech

It's hard to believe that it has been 53 years since the March on Washington and Dr. King's speech. I and a bunch of my fellow students from Loyola College in Baltimore went over on a bus the night before. We had not anticipated such a crowd even then. We were able to get halfway up the Reflecting Pool. This speech is one of the best ever made by a human being. For me it ranks right up there with JFK's Inaugural speech.

I remember driving from long island to Washington. I was 18 and about to enter my final year in high school. We arrived early and were near the front of the march. Truly one of the greatest speeches I ever heard. I will always be grateful for my mother and aunt taking time off work so my sister and I could be a part of history!

It gives me chills also Peter, and Then brings great sadness to me....53 years and we still have Massive Discrimination in this country....I just don't understand how we are ok with liking different color eyes, different color hair, we can like different color cars, clothes, furniture, etc....Please tell me why the Color of Skin is any different !!!!!!!....Whats even worse is when you hear a racist asshole sitting by the pool all greased up trying to get dark skin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Fuck they pay good hard cash and go to a tanning salon, but yet bitch about a person with dark skin.....I truly get just don't get it !!!!!!!!!!!All I can say is if there truly is a god, they will get there's one day.....
